Hello! Thank you all for your patience as I have been navigating life changes, while also trying to set aside time to revamp this subreddit.

I will be making separate posts with full breakdowns regarding many of the recent changes, as well as linking them in the community sidebar for future reference; however, I wanted to give a brief overview in an announcement post so you all may view them at your own pace, and of course, leave any feedback.

✦ Flair Updates - Users

⟢ Users now have the ability to choose their own custom flairs. This allows users to have a unique and customizable experience on how they wish to identify/present themselves in the community. There are a variety of colors, but please, do not hesitate to ask for more!

>⟡ Expectations regarding custom flairs:

ᯓ Customizations must be appropriate. No usage of slurs, inappropriate terminology, sexually suggestive wording/emojis, etc. will be allowed.

ᯓ Up to 5 emojis are allowed, and more are available upon request. Do not abuse this feature, and do not use inappropriate combinations of emojis in attempt to bypass guidelines.

ᯓ Flairs must be [relatively] on theme. Personal identifiers, such as pronouns and related hobbies, are permissible--however, age, location, and other private information are not. Users who are underage are absolutely not permitted to disclose age, while there will be more leniency towards any adult users.

ᯓ Keep flairs legible. While the purpose of this addition is to allow users freedom of expression, flairs must still be relatively legible for both moderation and community interaction purposes. This means excessive fonts will not be acceptable [e.g. εхɑмρlε, ε×αɱρℓε, 𝓮𝓍𝓪𝓂𝓹𝓁𝓮, etc.]

⟢ There are now several new post flairs! This is to aid users in navigating the community, properly labeling trades, sorting through desired topics, etc. More flairs are will be available upon community request.

ᯓ Please try to stay on topic. If you are having difficulty deciding which flair is most appropriate for your post, try to choose the one you feel is most suitable. There will be no penalties for flair misusage unless it is found to be repetitive and intentional--this is to ensure proper sorting and post placement.

ᯓ Review community guide for flair definitions. If you would like more information on the intent behind each flair, view this post [pending] to have a better understanding. ✦ New/Updated Rules

⟢ As some of you may have already seen, the rules for this community have been updated and some new ones have been added. For a more in-depth explanation of each rule, please see this post [pending].

>⟡ Expectations regarding rules:

ᯓ Rules will now be fully enforced. Due to the nature of the subreddit's pending changes, rule enforcement has been very lax. Since they are now complete with removal responses, they will be more enforced. You will be notified alongside your removal with a reasoning why, as well as a notification of any penalties administered (if applicable). You may always reach out via ModMail for further elaboration on your removal, ban, etc.

ᯓ Please read and review changes, especially before a report takes place. While it is sincerely appreciated that many of you take a moment to report posts you genuinely believe are rule-breaking, some of these reports are inaccurate. Some of this community's rules do not exactly follow other Adopt Me! centered communities' rules, although very similar, so please be sure to read them over before issuing a report for a post or comment. These reports can sometimes overshadow reports of other, more severe rule-breaking posts, and take a bit longer to tend to.

✦ New Penalty System

⟢ The penalty system has been completely revamped--there will now be tiers for escalating penalties based on circumstances, severity, etc. A full breakdown of this new system can be found on this post [pending], but for a more general overview it will look something like this:

>ᯓ Gentle reminder: First-time rule break, less severe rule, a nudge to re-read rules. | No Penalty

>ᯓ Warning: Second to Fourth rule break [dependent upon nature of rule breaks]. | Warning Administered

>ᯓ [Short] Temporary Ban: Fifth to Eighth rule break [dependent upon nature of rule break]. Short temporary bans will typically range from 1-6 days. Certain rule breaks may begin at this escalation, and continue from here. | Temporary Ban Administered

>ᯓ [Medium] Temporary Ban: Eighth to Tenth rule break [dependent upon nature of rule break]. Medium temporary bans will typically range from 7-21 days. Certain rule breaks may begin at this escalation, and continue from here. | Temporary Ban Administered

>ᯓ [Long] Temporary Ban: Tenth+ rule break [dependent upon nature of rule break]. Long temporary bans will typically range from 22+ days, depending on nature of rule break and previous bans/behavior. Certain rule breaks may begin at this escalation, and continue from here. | Temporary Ban Administered

>ᯓ Permanent Ban: Numerous rule breaks, failure to comply, or malicious behavior. Permanent bans will not be handed out lightly, so appeals for them will not be common--though not impossible. This penalty is typically administered immediately to scammers, hackers, inappropriate users, etc. Few circumstances will result in immediate permanent ban. | Permanent Ban Administered

⟢ Users who do not have a history of being notorious trouble-makers or well-known scammers will be starting with a clean slate from this point forward, meaning if you have a penalty administered from a few months-years ago or from a previous moderation team, this will not count towards any potential future rule-breaking behavior.

⟢ Users may contact the moderation team via ModMail at any point in time for an update on their moderation log. Information regarding any moderation actions will be provided with its associated reasoning. Certain scenarios may require censoring if any sensitive information is included.

>⟡ Expectations regarding penalty system:

ᯓ Users will be expected to familiarize themself with the updated system. This information will be accessible via the community sidebar at all times so users may refer back to it. There is no intent for this to be seen as a "surprise" for users, so please be sure to read the in-depth explanation post if you have any uncertainties.

ᯓ Abuse of the system will not be tolerated. If a user is found to be using multiple accounts to evade penalties, more severe penalties may be administered. The system is designed to be intentionally more relaxed to foster a welcoming and positive environment, but is subject to change per community needs.

ᯓ Feedback is always welcome, and strongly encouraged. If you feel there is a certain aspect that could be done better, or changed in any way, please do not hesitate to voice your opinion. These guidelines are set to protect the community and aid in maintaining this space as organized, kind, and welcoming. Frequent community feedback posts will be uploaded to continuously seek input for progress, but you may contact ModMail or DM u/xbuckayroox at any time if you wish to share your thoughts.

Is there a new ratio/set of ratios this community has adapted? I took a small break from CT and it seems prices have dropped/stagnated although pets have risen. Is there something I’m missing? A collective memo that I didn’t see?

Typically during my active period, I’d see .3 on the low end and .45 on the high end, which already varied from the original .5. I’ve seen a few posts going as low as .26, is this common? If so, why?

Sqwiggles and I have decided to initiate a temporary subreddit restriction. This will allow us to “catch up” with some posts and overall changes we would like to see happen here that have been pushed back over these last few months due to a busier life schedule.

We have noticed that we have not been able to fully tend to this sub as we would like during this time, and we hope that this temporary restriction will allow us to roll out some changes to help us going forward, including introducing new moderators to our team.

⟡ What to expect during this time:

₊⊹ We are looking to have this restriction last at least two months. This gives us a fair amount of time to create proper guidelines for intended changes while accommodating our lives outside of Reddit.

₊⊹ We would also like to see some new faces join our team to help with managing our growth, so be on the lookout for a Moderator Applications form rolling out before the sub restriction concludes so we may have time to efficiently train our new moderators on what to expect.

₊⊹ A "restricted" community only allows approved users to create posts and comments; however, we will still be allowing [unapproved] users to comment so you may continue to discuss trades and such. With this, we will also consider opening a mega thread bi-weekly to accommodate for this while we sort out some of these changes. More information on when these threads will open will come in the future.

₊⊹ ModMail will still be accessible for users who have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the restriction or any other potential needs. We greatly value community input and will be sure to consider all feedback into our final decisions as a team.

I would first like to take a moment to thank you all for the continuous support as our community develops and blossoms into a more widespread and active community for the Adopt Me! fanbase.

The owner, u/sqwiggless and I have decided that for the most optimal navigation for a growing community, we will take on a co-owner approach—for which I have been designated to this role.

This is to ensure that every voice is heard, and to allow for multiple perspectives when making large scale decisions that will affect the entire community. This also allows us to have more room for communication, as our varying timezones and busier life schedules can sometimes cause gaps in our overall moderation of the community.

Hello all,

I first want to apologize for the lack of update and communication I have had with this community. Life takes its toll and I have had other matters to tend to outside of Reddit, leaving too little time to tend to my hobbies.

I would also like to take a moment to address cross trading. I have recently noticed an influx or reports flagged as “regarding cross trading,” listed as one of the rules on the community sidebar.

Forgive me for not making a detailed, updated rules post sooner, breaking down the addition or tweaking of certain rules. However, in short, I would like to say that cross trading is allowed within this subreddit.

I understand many of the other Adopt Me! centered communities do not allow cross trading and/or any mention of it. However, I believe that it has become a very popular topic amongst active traders and therefore has a place in our subreddit.

I’d imagine these reports are being done in good faith, but please note that they do not allow me to catch up with other posts/reports that may have harsher rule breaking content.

I greatly appreciate those of you who take the time out of your day to report rule breaking content, as I am not always able to see them in a timely manner. You make my “job” easier, but please be sure to thoroughly read the rules on the community’s sidebar if you are going to report a post for potentially going against guidelines.

I will soon get around to making more edits for this community, including but not limited to a full breakdown of the rules and their consequences. Please bear with me as I navigate through these changes and try to ensure a smooth transition into a more structured community.

Do note as well, this is subject to change. Should the subreddit become more active or prominent to scammers, it is possible I will rescind this rule and return to a No Cross Trading stance. I do my best to ensure this community is safe from such, but I am only one person and cannot dedicate my full hours to such.
