Former Workington Comets star Rasmus Jensen has received a nine-month ban from speedway.

The suspension was handed down by Denmark’s Motor Union following an altercation with event director Per Wiekhorst during the Danish Championship Final in Esbjerg on June 17.

Philip Hellstrom-Bangs leave Ipswich to join Championship team

Swedish star is set to stand down from the Ipswich team, with Tru7 Group Witches bosses helping him to seek a Cab Direct Championship club for the rest of the season.

Hellstrom-Bangs has struggled for fitness and form following the two-week suspension he served in early May, and he has been unable to build the momentum needed to establish himself in the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership at this time.

Wild Card to SGP after 9 year absence

Polish racer Piotr Pawlicki is set for his first FIM Speedway Grand Prix since 2017 after being named as wild card for the first-ever FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Lodz on Saturday, August 1.

Pawlicki dons the famous No.16 race jacket as he ends his nine-year exile from the sport’s biggest stage. The 31-year-old was crowned FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship winner in 2014, and also won back-to-back FIM Speedway World Cup gold medals with Poland in 2016 and 2017.

Poole upand coming youngster ruled out of the rest of the season

Poole Pirates can confirm that Australian rider Fraser Bowes will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after medical investigations revealed a bulging disc in his back.

Bowes has been struggling with the injury since his crash at Wimborne Road on 20th May. Despite making several attempts to return to racing, the Australian continued to experience significant pain and felt something was not right.

Poole v Oxford cancelled due to Englands World Cup football match!!

OXFORD have postponed their scheduled Cab Direct Championship clash with Poole on Wednesday due to England’s football World Cup progression.

With the Three Lions topping their group, the Round of 32 fixture against DR Congo takes place at 5pm on the same day, with the potential to extend into the time when speedway would be running.

A Cheetahs statement said: “As a patriotic club, the management know that many fans, riders and volunteers will want to support their country in the competition, which is why they have made this decision.

“They thank the Poole promotion for their cooperation and agreement with this decision.”
