PSA: all Ohme chargers are apparently offline and need replacing

I’ve seen a few people now with offline chargers, I had the same issue.
A lot of people are saying it needs a reset or connect your smart tariff to the car.
I contacted Ohme and they instantly said we need to replace your charger (free of charge)
When the installer came to swap it out he said apparently they’ve upgraded the firmware, made a mistake, and whoever upgraded it has forgotten their password or something so a lot of the chargers now are just non functional to be connected to the network
Whether that’s true or not I don’t know but call them up and get your charger replaced to get it working

EDIT: as pointed out it depends on the firmware whether your charger was affected or not it’s not all- apologies!!

Hi all,
I’ve been looking at solar for my 3 bed detached. It’s a small house and I average about 450kw/h per month. That average is skewed because of my EV, i live alone and WFH, with travelling.

I was looking at a fully functioning system, about 8.3k all in with a 12kw/h battery (8 panels).

Now with the new plug in set up, I’m thinking two panels on my fence (they get light all the time) wired into an inverting in my garage, but I then want to hook it up to a battery.

This system is running about 2k.

That way I’m making the most benefit but also i want to switch my rate to a flux overnight, so I can top up the battery with overnight rates.

My question is, as it’s all plug in will this actually work? If I’m limited to 800w, if I start using more usage in the evening the battery can’t up its capacity to make the most of the overnight rate energy? At some point I could get it hardwired to make up for that, but having two panels and a battery even though I could make the most, it’s throttled?

Can someone help me figure this out as a worthwhile investment (I mean solar is) but one of the reasons I’m hesitant for the full system is purely it’s a very small house, with a partner and kid I’d want to move out and that’s the plan, so I don’t think I’d stay long enough to pay it off in full.

Thoughts?
