I made a mistake, how bad is this?

This is definitely my fault but there’s an older gentleman who has come in without an id before and I’ve turned him away and he always gets mad. The other day I saw the new shift lead keying in someone’s birthday without an id so when the same gentleman came in, I followed his example and just asked for his birthday and he looked surprised that he was able to buy cigs without his id. I’m new and I now realize that keying in a birthday is only if they don’t want their id scanned. I’m worried now that this gentleman will come in again and try to make me do the same thing. I’ll be firm but I feel really bad for breaking the policy, it’s only my third week.

Failed a class for the second time

I am going into my sophomore year of meche and I failed a class last semester - statics. I did an accelerated summer course to pass and I failed it again. I had a 76% going into the exam and I got my final grade of 55%. I really feel like I’m not cut out for this anymore. I have the career fair in the fall and my gpa is totally fucked like a 2.48. I don’t even know what to do. I obviously have to retake the class in the fall but I’m just wasting money. I know that I’m not special because engineering is hard and people fail classes but I feel so frustrated with myself.
