stupid rules

Was told that SMs cannot help on the floor. So if you have a skeleton crew and you are struggling, you're not going to help with ic3s and photo and totes? the company doesn't give us enough hours to bring in more man power yet they expect everything to get done in 1 day but tell the sms to not do salesfloor work. and what happens when the customers complain about slow service, the sm is not gonna help? or only if the complaint reaches the dm? this company is run by people who never worked retail a day in their life.

Hi I just want to know if this is true

I work at another retail company and at my job on our ELOs or TCs (handheld computers) we're able to look up if an item is in stock at other stores as well as our home location.

I went into a Walgreens store this morning and the item I wanted wasn't in stock there. I asked if they could look up on their TCs if it was in stock at any nearby Walgreens and they told me I had to use the Walgreens app for that.

I've only used the Walgreens app one time, to clip a coupon. I had to reset my password, log in, and then every time I tried to search for the item in the search bar, it was only letting me search for coupons, not telling me what stores had the product or how many items were left at each store.

Even when I look up an item and click to change my preferred store, it doesn't say how many items are at the other locations.

So going back to the TCs, are the employees able to look this information up or not? Was this just a lack of training on their part or can they really not do it?

Pharmacy asks for help with send fill every single day

Is this normal for all stores? I get every once in a while if you’re busy or short staffed but we’ll have a bunch of people back there and they still call someone from the front end. I got my own tasks i gotta do

Look what I found. Is this common?

I was cleaning the entire photo dept bc apparently there’s a new policy where there can’t be any clutter or anything on the counters. I found this sheet.

Is this too much work?

First of all I call the Theatro a lot when customers have ultra specific questions I don’t know the answers too

But then I complain about there being too much work here. Here’s what happened today.

I walk in and have to take over the register as my coworker is 2 hours late, when they come in I had stock some skincare. Then I had to face the back. THEN my manager told me to do the front since there was nothing else to do because there was a cashier in the front.

As im facing the front a same day order comes in and I had to do that. When I finished the same day order the person in the front did not tell anyone that they were doing trash. So I had to take over the front.

Now my manger wants me to put out Halloween candy. But when I scanned it all of it with the exception of a few had no place to go. I told my manger this and he said to scan it all to make sure. Oh and all of this while watching the front

Why would WPRE do this?

We had a bunch of damaged and expired Coke 12 packs and 2 liters sitting in our credit area waiting for credit. She loaded up a cart and put a bunch of it back on the shelf. Small crew this morning so no one noticed she had done it until afterwards. And she didn't notify anyone she was doing anything with Coke. It's usually just magazines, reading glasses, and gift cards. (It should have been obvious it was a credit area too. It's far from where we keep our overstock and filled with more than a hundred damaged and expired 20oz on top of all the other credits.

Why are we acting like one tech can do the job of 3 people??

I need to know if I’m the only one who thinks this is absolutely ridiculous because I’m getting to the point where I’m genuinely pissed off.
We’ve been having pharmacist staffing issues lately. In the meantime, we’ve been getting a bunch of floaters.
And some of these floaters are making the situation 10x worse. 😭
The biggest problem is that our other two techs leave around 5 PM. So from 5 until close, it’s literally ME + the pharmacist.
And when I say it gets BAD at 5, I mean BAD.
Some pharmacists are not reviewing everything before the other techs leave, so suddenly all of this shit is sitting there waiting when I’m left with one pharmacist.
Now apparently I’m supposed to be:
Running drive-thru
Running the front register
Answering phones
Checking patients out
Typing prescriptions
Filling prescriptions
Pulling prescriptions
Putting up prescriptions
Taking out trash
Filling the drums
Dealing with whatever random problem walks through the door
AND somehow keep the pharmacy running smoothly
All. By. Myself.
so if I’m helping someone at pickup and someone pulls up to drive-thru, guess what? They’re waiting. If I’m filling and the phone rings, guess what? I have to stop filling. If I’m typing a prescription and a patient walks up, guess what? I have to stop typing.
Like WHAT exactly do y’all expect me to do?? 😭
I understand that technically there is a pharmacist there, but the pharmacist is obviously doing pharmacist duties. I am the ONLY tech actually doing all of the technician work.
And I’m not saying I refuse to close with one pharmacist. I’m saying one person cannot physically be in four places at the same time.
Like babe… I AM ONE PERSON. 😭😭
I’m genuinely curious how other Walgreens pharmacies handle this. Is it normal for one tech to be completely alone as the only technician from 5-close while having to handle basically every technician responsibility?
Because I feel like I’m losing my fucking mind.
I don’t even mind working hard. I actually LIKE being busy. But there is a huge difference between being busy and being expected to perform the work of three people simultaneously.
At some point something has to give — and I refuse to let that “something” be patient safety just so the pharmacy can pretend we’re adequately staffed.

Refusal of service

So at what point can we refuse service to someone and ask them To leave? Some retard comes in the store screaming "where are the phone mounts?" The cashier can't understand what he's asking for because he's yelling. She asks him what he's looking for and he responds "I'm not playing these fucking games where are the phone mounts?" Im behind the photo counter and hear this being screamed. I couldn't understand him either. I heard pho mau, I'm trying to figure out what this idiot is looking for. Again at the top of his lungs" phone mounts, phone mounts" the cashier points him towards the electronics wall and he's still screaming" I'm not dealing with any doppelganger bulshit" no idea what that means "its called side effects " he gets to electronics wall and continues to scream so i approach him and point to the one phone mount we have in stock. Im have about 5 inches and at least 100lbs on him so now his manners come out. He asks if we have one that goes around your neck I say no. So he says thanks and starts to leave " I like this guy, straight to the point no bullshit"

Afterwards I'm telling the sm what happened and asking when we can refuse service and ask someone to leave. She's spineless and starts suggesting that would have made it worse. So I have to keep asking "ok but for those of us on the floor who actually have to deal with this crap, when can we refuse service and ask someone to leave?"

Suggesting we should just put up with abuse like that is horse shit I'm not paid enough to put up with this kinda crap. So again I ask when can we refuse service and ask someone to leave?

Gypsy that always steals keeps harassing me everyday, telling me to eat his cum and suck dick and refers to me as his little bitch everyday for years.

When I complain to the manager he says he has nothing to say to me and won't give me his name after he looked at his id for me to get a restraining order on him.

In trouble for doing a survey at a store I don't work at?

My GF and I stopped to get her script at the store near her. It's no cost, so we didn't use my number or employee discount. After we left, she used my phone to do the survey. Today I got talked to about how we can't do surveys, even for different locations. I thought we just couldn't do it for our location?

Scan outs

how are scans out split at yalls store ? cuz we just had one of our bay leaders start college so we had to split the store between 3 of us cuz everyone else refuses to do scan outs. am i crazy or is this unfair ? like i enjoyed having tangible evidence of my hard work but atp i dread going to work now because i have one day to do my scan outs (my hours were cut severely) and my ocd wont let me get less than 100% productive scans.. not to mention inventory is next week and my manager has done NOTHING ab it

What is and IS actual job now ?

this is going to come off alot ruder than i mean but please hear me out cuz im curious and frustrated. Every store I worked at the IS has been the laziest person in the store. As far as I was ever told, their jobs were scan outs, markdown, resets and sometimes vendors. But now that scan outs (he doenst have any, while we just lost a osa bay leader. so we now have just split the whole store between three people.) have been given to mainly sfls and i do all resets in my store. The only thing my current IS does is flirt with the woman in the pharmacy all day and is slightly helpful w photo. But besides that like if you’re not doing scan out and resets and most of the time sfls are doing vendor shit and markdowns.. what are yall supposed to do now ? again im not trynna be rude AT ALL !! but getting my hours cut to 13 hrs a week just for our IS to have full-time hours, while not doing a damn thing for the front if the store, is extremely frustrating (not to mention he is a 40-50 year old man)

Apparently we have an Auditor?

Do any other stores have an auditor that comes every other week? She says she’s with the state, has an app on her phone when she takes pictures of random items and they give us a score. She never gets checked in and she always speaks to a shift lead and not the store manager, because the store manager has already left for the day. I’m not sure if It’s just me but I’m uncomfortable. She wears casual clothes (shorts, crocs) and often brings her child with her. Week before last she asked to be let into the stockroom and gave us a bad score for something being dirty, which was fair. Today she told me that she comes every other week now. Am I crazy or is this sus?

Recently got fired

And Jesus! It has never been better for my mental health! I was a fresh store manager and all the shit they wanted us to do was insane! I was having so many panic attacks daily. I was questioning my sanity, daily. Then I got fired. It was the weirdest time in my life because I had never gotten fired but I didn’t really feel sad. I felt relieved. I was unemployed for a whole work day and got something else. I had my first day and it was night and day. Oh my god I didn’t realize the stress and crap they put on you daily until I didn’t feel it anymore! Thank you, Walgreens, you did the best thing ever for me!!! But also, f*** y’all because I would never work for a corporation that hates their employees that much! So thank you! ❤️

Am I a snitch?

I work in photo 3 days a week. The front end cashier keeps disappearing. Turn around and I’ve got a line at photo and front register. Has happened multiple times so I told the store manager. But now I feel guilty about telling on her. But if she’s not there I have to cover both. Am I the ahole?
