I just found 100 dollars on the floor and i feel like a dumbass for asking my SM what i should do with it because ofc they told me to put it in the safe. I should have just kept it but I don’t wanna risk my job over 100 dollars. Not in this job market. What’s gonna happen if nobody claims it? If Walgreens just takes it I’m going to be pissed. lol.

I have a new CSA at my store. I noticed their name on the register is different than their nametag so I asked which one theyed prefer. They explained that the name on the terminal is their legal/deadname and that they don’t go by that anymore and wished it said their preferred name….
If im not mistaken we can change that right? At least on the terminals. I know the schedule and paychecks will show legal names but If im remembering correctly ive seen nicknames on the terminals before. Does anyone know how to change it if thats even still an option?
Okay I need a refresher because I haven’t done a repayment in a very long time.
Did a loan on 71 for 100 dollars. Didn’t have enough in the drawer to pay it back. Im closing down terminals now and I have enough in the deposit drawer to pay back the safe. My question is:
My total pick up for 71 is 7.26. Do I subtract the 100 from that drawer and instead enter -92.74 under 71 in next gen? (While still only physically taking out the 7.26 to make the register 100.00). Does that make sense?
This is the part that always stumps me and I’m at another location volunteering so I really don’t want to mess this up.
Just had a guy come in a few minutes ago, telling my CSA that yesterday he sent a hundred dollars through Western Union, by debit card, at a different location; finalized the transaction but then he wanted to cancel the transfer... He says he contacted Western Union and they told him to do another transaction this time to receive 100 dollars, which is how he ended up at our location today. Does it sound like it was an attempt to scam us, was the customer being scammed, or am I just ill-informed on how the process works? Ive never had this particular issue before. I refused to process his western union transaction for his safety and ours and told him to contact the western union number we have on file and/or go back to the original Walgreens he processed the first WU transaction at….If I was wrong I feel bad but better safe than sorry yk?
I think its time for new furniture. Ive been on this game for a LONG time, so these days all i really do is shop and decorate the units ive acquired over the years, this may sound greedy but Im running out of furniture especially for things like bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens. I wanna see something new from woozworld. The recent design updates and attention to detail woozworld has been giving us has me seeing the potential for some really cute/cool furniture.
If I were to suggest any themes I desperately want a kind of retro earthy aesthetic with more focus on creative planters, lighting and unconventional shapes.
I know I know. Robotic small talk is just apart of retail. Code switching to some bubbly extroverted version of myself is how you make customers happy but why cant I just do my job sometimes without having to pretend i just did a line of coke in the stockroom?
Im not rude. Im not bitchy. I don’t rush customers, huff, puff, roll my eyes or ignore customers. even when I really want to.
I don’t get a lot of medallia reports but when I do it’s always about how quiet I am while Im on the register.
I do what is mandatory. A quick Hello welcome to Walgreens….Hi, did you find everything well today? Will you be using your number today? Would you like to round up today? Will you be using points? Would you like your receipt. Okay you’re all set!
What more do you want from meee.
I do have days where Im a little more quiet, I still speak Im just a little more monotone and maybe that’s what upsets people? fair.
I can be more sociable, and I am, when it happens naturally. I don’t try to remember customers names. I don’t expect them to remember mine. I try to remember the cigarettes people buy, and I’ll recognize couponers, but even those conversations don’t go past the weather and how horrible our prices have gotten.
Im very helpful and very knowledgeable. So I can and do answer any and all customer questions as best I can. I’ll even give you a little insider info if I’m feeling gossipy, but some days I much rather get my job done.
The rest of my coworkers are very sociable so we aren’t lacking in that department whatsoever. If you’re looking for a Walgreens employee that will ask you how your daughter’s dance recital went last weekend it unfortunately wont be me but we can share a laugh about how garbage our coupons are if you want, just not for long because theres a line behind you…..
Can anyone please give me the steps to apply the employee discount to a new employees Walg Acc? Hes been here for over a month and im not sure if hes forgetting to ask our SM or if the SM is just to busy to apply it but id like to just get it done for him. I know when i started shift leads could do it unless the rules have changed please lmk.
