Starting class 5 minutes late for no reason

I’ve never posted a vent before, but here I go lol I can understand if some classes start 1-2 minutes late because a newbie cuts it close and they need a machine walkthrough. But today’s class started 5 minutes late because the coach was yapping to the class about literally nothing important (like summer plans). That cut the class to about 45 minutes, and I felt that 5 minute difference in how much shorter each exercise felt.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal, but for how expensive these classes are, I expect class to start on time (barring a valid reason).

Squeezing glutes drops my hips

I know you need to tuck your tailbone and round your spine when doing plank extensions, which I do as much as I can so my lower back doesn’t drop. However, I’ve also seen a lot of advice and cues to squeeze your glutes. I’ve tried that, but I find that my lower back drops so my spine is on a diagonal instead of rounded when I squeeze my glutes, which doesn’t feel right. Does this happen for anyone else? Or anyone have tips on how to keep my hips lifted so I stay in proper form?

JETSET format vs solidcore

I’ve searched and read the posts/comments comparing JETSET and solidcore, so I’m more or less familiar with why a lot of people opt for solidcore over JETSET (solidcore is harder, better music, low lights/vibe).

But I’m still wondering how the JETSET exercises and class format compares to solidcore’s since solidcore has different muscle focus days, whereas JETSET is full body everyday.

Can you achieve the same results from solidcore with JETSET (even if that means going to JETSET more than you would go to solidcore)?

JETSET is significantly cheaper than solidcore, so I’m wondering if compromising on price is worth the results.

Thank you!

Is solidcore still right for me?

Last June, I committed to the 12 classes/month membership and was in amazing shape, seeing real progress quickly.

However, since last December/January, I gained a lot of weight due to a lot of depressing personal problems and got lazy with going to solidcore February-April. I’ve since moved and took my second class today in about 3 weeks. Even though I have almost 150 classes under my belt, I took the easiest spring loads, and it was still really difficult for me to keep proper form. Even during RDLs today, my lower back hurt a lot. And hamstring curls at the END of class was evil and so terrible for my back, I could barely keep my hips up.

I’m wondering if solidcore is still right for me right now. Solidcore once made me feel so strong and confident, and I want to keep going, but after the last 2 classes, I’m scared I may be doing myself a disservice with all the strain my lower back is taking because my core isn’t strong enough to support my weight.
