Human Reproduction - ectogenesis

In a future of human reproduction where 'in vitro fertilization all the way through infancy are outside the body' is more normalized, readily available, safe, reliable, affordable what are the quality of life and societal impacts to the would be gestating women +/-?

The main idea is to imagine a future, where the physicality of childbearing is no longer incumbent on the female person, nor a societal expectation or norm. Discuss pros and cons from the woman's perspective? The positives seems obvious an immediately relatable. I think that the negatives outweight the positives after thinking about it on my own, but wanted opinions from people closer to the issue.

Positives:

- Career
- Mother's health
- Presumably the implied scientific controls and process development, safety of the baby
- Mother's identity
- Egalitarian approach to parenting, split and shared roles

Negatives:

- Custody
- Reproductive decision
- Leave & accomodation
- Relationship bargaining
- "Mater semper certa est"
- Public deference
