Do you think there will be a positive change when it comes to metrics when we get the new big boss, or do you think it’ll get worse?

I swear we are turning into Best Buy! I really hope there will be a change in metric priorities and what defines our success in the near future! What do you guys think?

****Thoughts on ISE Program****

Do you think the whole ISE program (especially for regular specialist) is a scam? I find it so shitty that whoever gets the role will stay at whatever pay they’re currently receiving while doing even more work than usual. Usually those work duties/tasks will be more administrative pro and above level, but they drain the employees in the experience because they are basically doing things that managers or leads should already be doing, but for lower pay and more mental exhaustion! I’m tired of hearing the fruit stand say that the ISE looks good in a resumé when in reality, it’s to exploit lower paid employees to pick up the slack that managers or leads leave behind!

Have managers actually sold stuff before and have been praised or coached by their metrics???

I’m wondering this because I feel like all the managers have this sense of pride that they can do every sale/interaction perfectly, which is why they coach us to those “standards”! Through my eyes, the only reason I can see them doing it “perfectly” (in the rare instance they choose to sell) is because they choose their customers they want to do a full 🍎 experience interaction with and see if it could be a “perfect” interaction to brag about how they succeeded in ‘this metric and that metric’ etc, vs the rest of us, we get ALL the different types of customer interactions where some are just disconnected from the whole thing and want to just buy and go! I’m tired of seeing them in huddles in the corner and hyping each other up with BS verbiage that actually play no role in the success of us overworked employees! It would be nice for them to show us how their “perfect” sale/interaction would go on a daily basis!

Do you think we will have to sell 🍎 cards to customers as a priority metric soon?

I have this deep feeling that this will happen soon! If and when it does happen, I better see the managers and leads show us how it’s done! They’ll probably coach us with some BS corporate language as “advice” when they can’t do anything they tell us themselves! Working and shopping at retailers that do offer credit cards is already stressful enough from either perspective and the thought of having to screw over someone’s finances because of another stupid metric that defines whether or not we keep our job is going to be the end of all of us in retail!

***Drop your fav customer pet peeves below!

Worked here long enough to develop several pet peeves from customers!

I personally hate it when customers consistently and frantically ask if the phone is unlocked! Asking one time is totally understandable, but explaining it in 10 different fonts in the interaction because they ask so much really drives me up the wall, especially since they’re also the same customers who make sales feel like transactional interactions rather than experiences we’re supposed to give! Because of how dismissive and absorbed in their own world they are, i always just say “F it! this doesn’t define me!”
