Which one would be a better choice: Samsung SyncMaster 793S or Hyundai ImageQuest QV770?

Both are 17" computer monitors from the 2000s with shadow mask. both max at 1280×1024 @ 65 Hz. each one is priced at an equivalent of 6.5 USD, I can get only one of them. I do digital art and have PCs with VGA outputs, I currently use a Philips from 2002 which is a typical curved PC monitor of the time.

Samsung SyncMaster 793S. A conventional flat-square screen (not a true flat tube) with 16" viewable (406 mm diagonal, 0.23 mm dot pitch). It scans 30–70 kHz horizontal and 50–160 Hz vertical, tops out at 1280×1024 @ 65 Hz, with 1024×768 @ 85 Hz recommended and 1152×864 @ 75 Hz as the highest practically usable mode.

Hyundai ImageQuest QV770. a 17" flat tube with 16" viewable and 0.25 mm dot pitch, pitched on high refresh rates and full-scan flicker-free output. Its scan range and mode table are essentially the same class as the Samsung. Dot pitch: 0.25 mm

Has anyone here used any of these two? I need opinions before buying. I have not tested the units in-person yet.

Could this monitor be saved? 1999 Hyundai PC monitor that suddenly died after loud cracking noises.

I think I have posted about this last year but got no answer so I'm back at it again. I got a Hyundai DeluxScan S770 (1999) last year from a scrapper. I don't know its previous usage and storage conditions. Text is edited from my post I wrote few days after it died.

I tested it before buying. I brought it home, plugged into my PC and it was working just fine. It made some loud crackling noises which I found that were normal for a CRT monitor that hasn't been turned on for years. As I was sure it wasn't used for a while, I didn't want to overwork it first time.

I wanted to use it again next day. I plugged it in. The power led turned green, crackling noise came but nothing on the display. Then it went silent, the led went off. Same thing happens every time I plug it in now. Connecting to the PC doesn't change anything. I tried another outlet and moved the cord around but nothing changed. The CRT noise starts when I plug it in and stops as the green led goes off. There was no unusual smell and the CRT didn't feel too warm. I had done degaussing through the settings menu.

My electronics repair knowledge is very limited, I have never done soldering and I'm certainly not going to open up a CRT at this level. I asked few electronics repair shops and most didn't know how to repair a CRT monitor or had no replacement parts. But hey, one I asked gave away a CRT monitor for free (which is what I'm writing this on). I really would like to know whether the Hyundai can be saved or not.

I was looking through old dry cleaning journals. I found one from 1950 that featured a full-page advertisement for carbon tetrachloride. 40 pages later, near the end, there was an announcement of the death of a dry cleaner from carbon tetrachloride.
