Best nature-focused campervan trip within 4–5 hours from Amsterdam?
Hi everyone,
My partner and I are planning our first campervan trip from Amsterdam in mid-July (Friday–Monday) and we’re looking for the best area to use as a base.
We’re looking for forests, hiking, natural swimming spots (rivers/lakes/waterfalls), quiet evenings, dark skies and small nature-focused campsites.
We’re in our early 30s, travelling without kids, so we’d prefer a relaxed outdoor vibe with hikers, nature lovers or van travellers rather than big family holiday camps.
We’re open to other ideas within a reasonable drive.
Where would you go, and do you have any recommendations for small campsites or camper spots?
Thanks!
