Hardware, tools, or ideas for preventing deadbolt access?

Hi all. I'm a renter, and the maintenance guys for my place are kind of awful to work with or talk to, so I'm looking here.

I live in an apartment that only has one window that opens. I'd like to set my portable AC up, but the window is right next to the apartment door. The window opens in a way that would make it *very* easy to access the deadbolt if someone just stuck their arm inside the window.

I have short arms and I tried it - piece of cake.

I work the graveyard shift, and I need it to be dark to sleep. Obstructing the blinds and blackout curtains any more than they would already be the with AC isn't going to work.

The door is solid wood, and I was hoping there was some type of... plate? Or panel? Or something I could put on the door near the deadbolt that would make it supremely difficult to reach.

At a certain point, if someone wants to get in, they're going to get in. I just would like to make it a pain in the neck, instead of a cake walk.

Thanks!

Edit to add that I know about the two-sided deadbolt locks, or. Two key... whatever, the kind you need a key to lock on both sides - I was just wondering if there was something else I could use

Tips to get smell out of couch

Hi all! I bought this sick couch second hand. It was pretty funky when I got it.

I did several rounds of coating it in baking soda, letting it sit, and then vacuuming it off. That really helped.

However, there's a little bit of strong funk left that I notice when my face is almost right up against it. That happens (or rather *would* happen) when I go to take a nap and lay on my side with my face close to the back cushion.

I'd like to be able to nap like this or have someone crash on my couch without the funk of ages coming through. I'm hesitant to use a shampooer or similar device on it because in some parts the weave is already damaged, and I don't want to make it worse.

Someone recommended spraying on vinegar and letting it dry, but I wanted to check out the sub first to see if anyone had any ideas or tips.

(that's a little feather from a pillow on the second picture in the lower right corner - not a fingernail!)

Edit to add that the smell is really only on one of the back cushions that aren't removable. The second photo was more for a close up of the material. The removable cushions do have zippers and I can wash and dry those by hand.

Thanks all, good advice coming in :)

Google free phone for my tech challenged dad?

My dad is in his 60s and kind of struggles with his current smartphone, but insists on having one.

He wants to degoogle, but I don't live close to him and wouldn't be able to help him with things. I think Graphene would be too difficult.

The Nothing phones work with T-mobile, but I've never seen or used one.

Is there a phone he could just start up and use with very little tinkering?

How'd do they get up there? Godspeed, couldn't be me!

Around 6:45 am. I love seeing window washers up high - nerves of steel
