How should I be splitting this up?

How should I be splitting this up?

I'm 33m. Self employed with fairly low super balance, most contributions are from teenage/young casual jobs - but looking to try and fill up my balance as best I can. I have just over 30k at the moment with ART. I have a house with a mortgage.

Thanks.

Is anyone still flying through Abu Dhabi

My wife and I bought flights with Etihad from Australia > Europe in mid August.

My wife is getting increasingly nervous about flying thru Abu Dhabi - being so close to the conflict in Iran.

Obviously there are loads of flights in and out of there every day, but curious to hear some of your experiences?

🙏

Parents signed exclusive rights to sell - unknowingly

Looking for some advice.

Larger context / backstory to follow but the TLDR version is that dad signed a piece of paper stating exclusive rights to sell, when he was told it was just a formality to let people on to the property.

My parents are in their 70s. They need to downsize and still have a giant mortgage. It's been a process but they're finally listening.

Further context; it's a 2 acre property in semi-regional Melbourne outer area. They actually had been trying to do the subdivision route for about 10 years and just sunk all their money into it and couldn't get it sorted. I wasn't involved at all until the very end when I just told them to stop, sell up and live their lives.

This is the story I got from my dad:

Property up their street was being sold.

The agent (?) came down and knocked on his door with another colleague, and asked dad if he was interested in selling because he could get an offer on their property.

He said he would need dad to sign some papers, just so that he could let people on to the property to view.

Dad signed the papers - clearly without reading them or talking to my mum about it.

I believe they have had a private inspection.

Later on they asked for section 32 and wanted him to sign it. He realised it was a contract of sale and then flipped out (privately) thinking they could just sell the house on him.

He THEN looked at the paperwork he signed and realised it was 140 day exclusive rights to sell paper.

He never intended to sell with this guy and was just exploring the options.

FWIW I've never sold a house and am not at all across this stuff at all, besides my experience in buying my first home which I still live in.

Clearly my dad is a bit of a dingus with this stuff.

I told him that he signed papers, he should just stick to a selling price that he would be happy to sell with (or more) for the 140 days and then move on if he wants to move on. And he should be reading what he signs lol.

Advice welcome. Thank you.
