Has anyone ever experimented with generating a perpetually self-modulating, non-repeating acoustic fractal using chaotic attractor equations, like the Lorenz or Rossler attractors, mapped directly to microtonal frequency ratios and spatial panning?
Has anyone ever experimented with generating a perpetually self-modulating, non-repeating acoustic fractal using chaotic attractor equations, like the Lorenz or Rossler attractors, mapped directly to microtonal frequency ratios and spatial panning? I have no idea if it would actually sound decent though.

Silent Hill 1-4 songs recreation without samples, using only hardware synthesizer
Hi guys!
I was wondering if there is somebody that can advise on the recreation of some Silent Hill songs without using samples. I have an ASM Hydrasynth Explorer Synth and have been trying to recreate some famous Silent Hill melodies and sounds, but most of them use samples and I've only had success with pretty much the 'Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me' melodies. I've attempted to recreate: Eternal Rest, Claw Finger, Heaven's Night, but can not even get close at all, even though I know they use samples I am still wondering if there are any Akira Yamaoka and Avith Ortega tracks I can recreate successfully?
Thanks in advance!
Sharing is caring (and I got some free vital stuff for download)
Hi! Call me Vita ❤️
I’m a sound designer focused in create some presets to share with everyone that wants some new and cool stuff. Everything I make is pay-what-you-want starting from $0, so basically if you want to get them for free, you can.
Now I’m focusing in backroom-style keys, synthwave keys and some cool pads. Some of that presets use personalized wavetables and I’ll continue to create more from every kind of category inside vital.
I left video demos in description of every pack so that you can hear what you’re downloading before you get it. So, if you want to get some of my stuff for free, look at the comments.
If you want to suggest presets and different sounds you think i could create, please let me know.
Any ideas on this? Very cool detuned thing going on
If anyones got any advice on how to make something like this would be appreciated 🙏 It's from a producer called Pocket whos got some really cool songs
What is this synth sound called right in the beginning of this track?
Hello everyone,
i'm a noob in music production and i'm wondering how this synth sound (ig it is a synth) is called?
The synth / instrument i mean is present right in the beginning of the song.
I have the feeling that this is simpler as i think it is but yeah, i'm a noob, sry for that 😅
I'm currently looking into growl synth because i think thats right, just in low pitched / octave 🤔
Thanks in regards!
Has anyone tried to produce a slowly morphing, microtonal pad utilizing Fibonacci-ratio intervals (like 1.618 Hz modulation rates) to mirror the natural expansion of a nautilus shell or galaxy?

Help me identifying some effect
Right at the beginning, I guess it's bass+ synth , I'd be grateful if someone could help me identify what's going on. Any hope in doing something similar with a bass?
Unknown track dropping laser effects
https://vocaroo.com/1buH7T7LA5Es
Hi, i'm sorry I don't know the name of the track, but how do you make these lazor effects? It looks like every single one has a different pitch envelope and they are so many..? thanks!
anyone know how to make this plucky sine wave sound?
im sure its so simple but i cant figure it out and get it right im using serum 2 at the moment.
its the main background pluck noise in this track im trying to reference
:)
why are synths detuned?
And why does it sound nice? I'm curious about why this is conveniton is electronic music, and sort of what it means? like where does it come from and is it generally best to detune a specific frequency or should it be automated like back to the root?
Can you use inverse Fast Fourier Transform scripts in languages like Python or SuperCollider to procedurally generate sound files that contain hidden semantic images?
Can you use inverse Fast Fourier Transform scripts in languages like Python or SuperCollider to procedurally generate sound files that contain hidden semantic images? I was thinking about using visual data from occult symbols, like Metatron's Cube, and encoding that information into audio without it just turning into garbage white noise.

how the fuck was this bass made? it sound outrageous…. is it worth it buying something like a minitaur or things like that for making this kind of bass sound and others? or things like serum are enough? complete newbie here, please help ❤️
Complete beginner struggle: finding or designing sounds when you don't know what they are called?
Hey everyone,
I'm pretty new to music production in FL Studio. I'm currently struggling with a huge roadblock and could really use some advice from more experienced producers.
Whenever I listen to my favorite tracks (artists like Quadeca, Yeat, etc.), I hear incredible sounds, textures, and synths that I want to experiment with. I also often have very specific sound ideas in my head that I want to bring into my DAW.
However, my main issue is that I don't know the technical terms for these sounds or how to describe them. I don't know if a sound is a specific type of synth, a heavily processed sample, or what parameters/effects were used to get that texture. Because I lack the vocabulary, searching for the right sample packs, presets, or tutorials feels almost impossible.
I have two main questions for you all:
Workflow/Mindset: How do you translate a sound from your head (or a reference track) into FL Studio when you don't even know what category/name it belongs to?I can't describe the sound properly to search for sample packs or YouTube tutorials, and I don't know how to recreate what's in my head.
Learning Sound Design: What's the best way to start learning sound design (using synths like Vital/Serum or stock FL tools) so I can actually tweak knobs with intent rather than just guessing randomly?
Help with trying emulate a synthy horn sound from a song that I like.
I recently got gifted fruit loops fl studio by my sibling who wanted me to learn about music production in general from a hobbyist side of things, so Ive been trying to replicate songs that I like to listen to in order to learn the intricacies of fl studio
I have been wanting to replicate the horn sound at 2:33 that plays in the background of the below linked song and have been stuck on it for a bit because none of the sample presets quite sound similar to what I would want it to sound like, how does one in this instance do that? And since I am new what would be like a standard approach to translate a riff or a sound that you hear in your head into a DAW. Any advice helps
How to reproduce camoufly lead sound?
Hi 👋, recently started music production and been obsessed with camoufly ukg production’s and I tried to reproduce the sounds that he uses for his lead as they are very catchy and dreamy.
I am talking about the ones he uses on the song « Himalaya » and « Ultramoon », specifically on Ultramoon (you can hear it from 1:23 to 2:06), it kind of sounds like a bell or a steel pan with a lot of reverb but I was unable to come anywhere to close to it’s sound using these.
Might be a dumb question, as I said i’m a beginner but any help would mean a lot to me 🙏
