Finally got around to watching Striking Distance (1993), the Bruce Willis movie set in Pittsburgh
And I gotta ask, what yinzer wrote this movie? Every other scene is a reference to Pittsburgh - “turn right on Bigelow,” “the Polish Hill murders,” “a body was found at the Shenango Steelworks by Neville Island,” “the victim was from Monessen,” “I’m just an old school Larimer Italian.” Even the opening shot of Bruce Willis in his apartment with the Steelers sticker on the mirror and the Pens poster on the wall and the Penn State ball cap and the Rolling Rock ornament. I mean, writers based in LA, who write movies set in LA, don’t make as many LA references as this movie does about Pittsburgh. Very amusing
