Got my second salary post switching jobs

Second salary after switching jobs

So I recently switched jobs and got my second salary credited last week. Before this my base was almost 1/3rd this. Switching has been tough lately but there are always open positions for the people who can keep up with the increasing bar of difficulty. Someone needs to prompt those LLMs afterall. Looking to cash in and make bank before AI eventually eliminates me

PS: Second salary because JB was credited in first salary, wanted the flex to be subtle you know ;)

Investment advice for upcoming big expenses within a year

Hi everyone, I’m seeking advice on investing for significant expenses, such as a car and a wedding within the next year.

I want to gift my dad a car as he retires this year, and next year, I’ll be getting married to my girlfriend.

Recently, I switched jobs and have a new total compensation of 75 lpa (50 base salary plus 25 RSUs).

Assuming I’ll receive approximately Rs. 3 lakhs per month, I have a monthly investment surplus of Rs. 2 lakhs.

I’ve already accumulated around Rs. 1.3 crore in mutual funds and previous company stocks, and I can withdraw those funds for my expenses.

My car budget is Rs. 25 lakhs, and my estimated wedding cost is Rs. 35 lakhs (although it could be higher or lower). However, I don’t want to take any money from my father for my wedding, as he should enjoy his retirement after taking care of all our needs for so long.

I currently have Rs. 13 lakhs in my savings account.

I’m considering taking out a loan for the car, with a down payment of around Rs. 10-12 lakhs.

For the wedding, I can either invest the entire Rs. 2 lakhs per month or withdraw some money from my mutual funds or stocks.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Car buying budget with current finances

Hi everyone,

I wanted to buy a car as a retirement gift for my father who is retiring next year. Currently I’m looking at the budget of 25 lakhs.

YOE: 5
TC: 75 lpa

I switched recently and my base salary has seen a huge jump from 20 lakhs to 50 lakhs. I have around 1.5 cr net worth. Major expenses coming up:
Wedding next year ~35-40lakhs

Thinking of paying 10 lakhs as downpayment as rest as loan for 3 years.

Thoughts on this? And whether I should increase/decrease my budget because ngl, those top trims with all the features are enticing :)
