Phones i have bought since i joined college

Phones i have bought since i joined college

My parents purchased only two or three phones, which I later replaced with secondhand models funded by saved pocket money. After the iPhone 6s, I acquired brand-new devices using my own earnings.

I have consistently chosen flagship models, perhaps one or two generations older, because I could not accept a mediocre device. Purchasing a new phone without consulting my parents brought a sense of confidence.

Best phones to me are

  1. iPhone 16
  2. Galaxy s10e
  3. Iphone 8
  4. 4 galaxy s4

The Galaxy s10e was the first phone I purchased with my own funds, and it felt remarkably wonderful—a kind of perfection.

The iPhone 8 still offers what I consider the finest design ever made, sparking nostalgia that makes me want to touch its surface. I keep it and admire it deeply; at times I feel drawn to return to the iPhone 8 rather than use my iPhone 16 Pro.

I have not upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro because current models resemble Oppo and Vivo designs. Perhaps the iPhone 20 will be the right time for me to upgrade. grade

Bought my own laptop and motorcycle at 19

Hey guys! A self taught tech peep here... I have been freelancing since I was ~14, and started learning programming at 9. I started off of my dad's old books and on his core duo laptop.

I just started at a tech startup in BLR at 15LPA, without a degree and with 2 internships. First hire of the company as a software engineer.

Our first real “holy shit, this is working” moment

We actually made money from our agency.

This picture probably looks stupid to most people.

For me, it's probably one of the first times DevAnalog Technologies felt like a real business.

No investors.

No rich dad.

No “I made $50k in 7 days with AI” bullshit.

Just me and my team sitting in front of laptops, trying to convince people to pay us to build software.

There were plenty of days where we were doing everything except making money.

Building websites.

Making proposals.

Calling people.

Getting ghosted.

Getting told “we'll get back to you.”

They never got back.

Then eventually, someone actually paid us.

And then another one did.

And suddenly we're standing here holding money that came directly from something we built ourselves.

It's not life-changing money.

But seeing physical cash earned through our own agency hits different.

The funny part?

A year ago, I would've looked at this picture and thought, “Damn, these guys are rich.”

Now I look at it and think:

“Okay. Payroll is due.”

Back to work.

Built an app from scratch and just hit 1,000 ratings with a 4.9⭐ average

Hi Reddit,

Wanted to share a small win that feels pretty big to me.

I’m a solo developer, and I’ve been building Game Nest, an app that puts a bunch of simple games and tools into one place.

Today, it crossed 1,000 ratings on iOS with an average rating of 4.9/5 ⭐.

What makes this milestone special isn't really the number. It's the feedback behind it.

I've had users point out bugs, suggest games, request improvements, and tell me what they actually enjoy using. A lot of those reviews have directly influenced what I've built next.

And honestly, as someone building everything mostly on my own, those reviews are also a huge source of motivation. There are definitely days when you wonder whether anyone actually cares about the thing you're spending hours building.

Then you see someone leave a 5-star rating saying they enjoyed a game you made at 2 AM. 😅

Game Nest is now at 77 games and tools, completely offline and ad-free, and I'm still adding more.

Just wanted to share the milestone here. 🇮🇳

If you're also building something on the side, keep going. Those tiny milestones eventually start adding up.

And if you've tried Game Nest, I'd love to know which game you liked the most or what I should add next.

From staff giving up their chairs for parents to building a proper Deputy Director’s suite. Growth takes time!

Our old shared head office was pure chaos. We had endless towers of registers and documents piled on every flat surface—half of which were constantly getting misplaced in the heap. Whenever parents visited, staff literally had to give up their chairs just so people had a place to sit.

We finally upgraded! Set up a dedicated, spacious suite for myself as Deputy Director, along with a proper workspace for my main staff member. No more document clutter, no more playing musical chairs with visitors, just a clean, functional space with dark-wood paneling and room to breathe.

It took a lot of hustle to reach this point, but stepping into a clutter-free room every morning makes it all worth it. Onwards!

Recently Made this shivji doll and cute little damru also

I made this little Shivji and his tiny damru ..

This one was completely made by looking at a reference picture no written pattern or tutorial...

The tiny damru was definitely one of my favourite parts to make.😭🤌 It’s always a little scary when I start something without a pattern because I never really know if it’s going to turn out the way I imagined, but seeing it all come together at the end was so satisfying.

Har Har mahadev and happy Sawan 😊

Reg the previous post, there were doubts whether the keys were just keychains or whether I'm a car dealer. These were all bought brand new.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Indian\_flex/s/a73yb1Af18

Previous post

I did have a good laugh when people were guessing whether I'm a valet or a second hand car dealer or a apartment car wash guy. This is to clear the assumptions.

Also, just to clear, this is not just family money, I bought 3 cars here with my business started from scratch by me. So I know a thing or two about using my own money to to spend on expensive things. I'm definitely not a richest in this group, there are probably people with maybachs and bentleys, but I have hustled for this.

One of the beautiful & emotional interlude written in a Metal music - To live is to die by Metallica - Feel so good to play it anytime.

I always say that this song should be played at my funeral. One of the greatest instrumental music ever written. In memory of the founding member of Metallica, Cliff Burton. Inspired of the section he wrote.

Here is an interlude section I was obsessed with. Always wanted to play the section in an acoustic guitar - This is a middle section of the song where everything stops and James picks up this interlude. So beautiful.

This part is particularly tricky given it is fingerstyle. But with some good consistent time and late nights with the guitar now it is comfortable. Feel so happy to play this raw emotional piece, each time.

Perks of dating a writer.

I just happened to receive a copy of her book with her poetry and found myself mentioned subtly there..in the about section.

Here's the paragraph

"I believe every poet writes around something they cannot fully name. Mine has always been love. Not the loud kind. The staying kind. The kind that lingers in ordinary moments and quietly becomes part of your breathing. He exists between my lines more often than he appears within them."

She's the flex...!

Original Oil Painting – Raja’s Reflection | Indian Contemporary Art

Raja’s Reflection explores identity and self-perception through the idea of royalty. The work reflects on power, responsibility, dignity, and the inner conflicts that shape how we see ourselves. By placing the figure in a moment of reflection, the painting questions the distance between the identity we carry within and the image we present to the world.

Reached 50L networth excluding PF at 25

Hi, I recently turned 25 and I’ve been able to hit a net worth of 50L in the 3 years of my career.

The breakdown is as follows

FD - 3.75 lacs
Savings Account- 2 Lac
Stocks and Mutual funds - 29.25L
Real estate - 16 lacs (plot of land)

Apart from this I’ve around 16.5 lacs in EPF.

I’m a software engineer by profession and started my career with a really good salary.

I couldn’t really share it with my friends or family for obvious reasons, so posting it here as I wanted to share about it somewhere.

When I started college I didn’t even think I’ll be able to make this much by 25 as I was from a tier-2 college.

Also, I’m not someone who saves and invests aggressively and sacrifices on experiences. I do almost everything that I feel like doing, like going to foreign trips, buying expensive stuff, etc. It’s just that I don’t spend impulsively.

I also got a decent car for my father (He did 20% down payments and I’m repaying the loan), which was the first car in our home.

I’m really grateful for everything that I was able to achieve and that I was able to repay all the efforts, my parents put on me.

PS: Will reach 70L including PF after I receive the salary for this month

OP's first stay at a 5 star- Taj Gateway, Nashik🌟

This is my very first stay at a 5-star. Sponsored by me. No office sponsored trip, no business sponsored trip.

I came here with my wife to make the trip memorable for her. She was surprised and happy when the cab entered the hotel premises.

She has been with me through thick and thin. She is the love of my life and deserves nothing but the best ❤️

Wish me the best trip y'all! Hehe😄😄

Thank youuuu

I don’t think I’ve ever felt this loved

**I still don’t know how to process what my girlfriend did for me**
I honestly don’t even know how to write this without sounding like I’m bragging, because that’s not really what this is about.
My girlfriend is 22 and currently in Australia. She’s coming back to India permanently next year. She also has a loan of more than ₹20 lakh, so she’s not exactly in a position where I’d expect her to spend crazy amounts of money on me.
A few days ago, my mood was really down. I told her about it, and she suddenly showed me something.
A PS5.
I was like, **“What the fkkkkkkk?!”**
She had already bought it as a surprise for me *before* I even told her I was feeling down.
And apparently, she had been doing **double shifts** just to afford it.
That part completely broke me.
I had actually told her before that she shouldn’t buy me one because it was around ₹70,000 in India. I’m not a materialistic person, and honestly, I would’ve been perfectly happy waiting until she came back to India.
But after buying it in Australia, sending it to India would’ve cost another ₹30,000 or so.
So I kept telling her, **“Please don’t. Just bring it when you come back. We’ll deal with it then.”**
Instead, she sent me the ₹70,000 and basically said:
**“Go and faking buy it right now.”**
I ended up pre-ordering it today from the Sony Center at DLF because it wasn’t available anywhere.
And I don’t know how to feel.
I’m obviously happy. I mean… who wouldn’t be?
But more than the PS5, I’m completely overwhelmed by the thought behind it.
She had been working double shifts. She has a huge loan. She’s leaving that job after buying it. And she still decided that spending this money on me was worth it because she wanted to make me happy.
I actually feel guilty accepting something this expensive from her.
I told her that I only earn around ₹50k a month right now, and sometimes I worry that I won’t be able to marry her or give her the life she deserves yet.
And she just told me:
**“I don’t care about the money. I care about us. I can earn too. We can earn one lakh together.”**
How the fuck do you even respond to that?
I’m not a materialistic guy. I don’t think the PS5 itself is worth ₹70,000.
But somehow, this PS5 feels like the most valuable thing I’ve ever received.
Because every time I look at it, I’m going to know that somewhere in Australia, the person I love was exhausted, working double shifts, and still thinking about how to make me happy.
I don’t know how I found this girl.
She’s 22. She’s stubborn. She’s absolutely fucking crazy for spending that much money on me when I’ve repeatedly told her not to.
And I love her more than I know how to explain.
We’re going to get married someday. I don’t know when, and I don’t know what our finances will look like by then.
But I know one thing.
I don’t need to find someone who can buy me a PS5.
I found someone who, when I was having a terrible day, thought:
**“I want to see him smile.”**
And apparently, her solution was a fucking PS5.
I still can’t process it.

I made an app that helps you quit smartphone addiction

I have suffered a lot due to smartphone and social media addiction. I lost my job, my girl and i also had to take therapy. I understand how difficult it is to overcome the smartphone addiction these days. Social media apps are designed to make us hooked and addicted.

I have implemented a science-backed methods in the app that are proven to be effective in real life. every feature of the app is designed keeping in mind the sole goal- make the user use the phone less.

it is gamified and also have rewards and global leaderboard so you feel motivated.

i hope the app solves the problem of our generation.

I am open to any suggestions or feedback.

Getting to choose from these every morning feels like a dream sometimes

As a car nerd since I was a kid, I used to sleep with car toys beside me. Admiring cars in my neighborhood and thought if driving nice cars will ever happen in my life. Fast forwarding 2 decades, the dream is a reality, but has took tremendous effort of my entire family. Building and running multiple businesses in which one failed, has kept me humble and to put in more effort. And now after reaching here, this doesn't feel enough, I want more.
