Seconda/Flagstaff Night Skies

I'm planning a short trip to Arizona for mid-December and choosing between Sedona and Flagstaff. I have a good sense of what each has to offer and how that aligns with what we're looking for and will be doing on the trip. But I'd like to know more about how they compare for casual stargazing. They both seem great and my understanding is that Flagstaff has the edge because of its higher elevation. But how much of a real difference is there to the casual eye? We're not serious sky-watchers or photographers and coming from a metro area on the east coast, so any bit of darkness will be amazing. Just trying to get a better feel for how much if anything we would be giving up if we stay in Sedona do night sky stuff there.

Is Flagstaff a 10 vs Sedona at 9.5 or 9? 7/8?

Or is it basically a tie for casual stuff?

How about Sedona in town at one of the hotels, versus Flagstaff at one of the recommended spots outside of the city?

Thanks!

Help with grass (weed?) type

I’m in the Northeast (zone 7b). Small lawn that I’m trying to get back into great shape after many years of minimal effort.

Im looking ahead to fall maintenance and winter prep and trying to figure out if I should pull out this grass in the picture.

Is that a clumping fescue type of weed? It doesn’t look terrible from eye level but is definitely clumpy and broader leaf and not uniform with the rest of the lawn.

Since it doesn’t stand out I’m Wondering it if might be part of the grass mix I’ve put down. Last year and this spring I used Jonathan green black beauty shad mix. I had some issues this spring and ended up seeding a second time with Scott’s Turf Builder Rapid Grass. The Rapid Grass says it has KBG, perennial rye grass, creeping red fescue, and Chewing fescue. The black beauty shade mix says it has turf type tall fescue, perennial ryegrass and fine fescues. If that was the case though I’d expect it to show up more uniformly and not just in some areas.

Should I pull out all of this clumpy broader leaf grass in the picture? Or is that part of what I put down and a good option to keep?

Thanks.
