I just bought new crab to give a friend to my one crab, and I noticed that the new one is color orange and my first one is brown. I know they need friends so is it okay if it is a different specie??
I just started taking care of crabs last April 15, and I when I finally got my first successful molt I am so happy!
This is him after 10 days of being burried. Didn't expect him to grow his one missing leg full length with just one molt, but surprise! He now has complete long legs.
My question is, is it normal that he is still pale? He is active, climbing ALOT and eating ALOT, but his color look very pale.
BTW, he is just less than an inch so the time he molted is short. And yes, I am sure he molted since he had one missing leg, but after he surfaced, it is now complete.
I bought baby hermit crabs 1 month ago, only one of them molted for 10 days but all of them got fat. Their legs are very thick unlike when I first got them which their legs look like sticks.

I live in tropical country and ants are just everywhere, I tried vaseline, traps, pesticides, etc. And ants still come back.
Recently I got hermit crabs and everytime I give food, the next day there will be lots of ants. The only thing that worked is sealing the tank using tape leaving not even a single hole for ants.
My question is how about oxygen? Is opening tank daily enough? Or holes are still needed?

I want to
Upgrade my crabitat into 3x its volume, but one of my crabs is currently under. He is just one inch in size so I expect him to go up soon but I am not sure. How do I safely do the upgrade?
I know I need to wait for him, but I am scared that as I wait, anoyher crab will molt and the wait will be longer.
I plan on using their old sand and decorations since it is all just new and cant afford new ones.
