Just learned Polestar Financial Services and Polestar Space are two difference companies
The lease return process has been extremely painful. The instructions provided by the Polestar Space were not accepted by Polestar Financial Services, and we have been stuck in the process for several weeks after returning the car.
The inspector misidentified dirt as scratches and also failed to notice the cargo cover in the back seat. He quoted ~$300 for these items. The guy at Polestar Space told us this was ok and that they'd conduct another inspection after we returned the car. However later Polestar Financial Services told us that they only rely on the Openlane inspection.
From an Polestar Financial Services representative, “We are different companies. We handle financing, and they are the dealership. We signed the contract with you, not the dealership, so we do not communicate with them directly.”
They also don't seem to care about online complaints. We will probably give up and pay the full invoice, since we've already made almost 20 calls to different parties and it no longer feels worth the effort. However, if there is any effective channel, please let me know :-(. I realize most people may think their chances of having the same experience are low just as we did (though there are many posts sharing bad experiences) and will still choose to buy or lease a Polestar. Well, good luck.
