Centurion Pathfinder from late 80s?

I built up this Centurion Pathfinder a few months ago. It’s rusty and crusty, with some really nice lugs. I’ve found very little information about this bike online. The frame is made in Japan, and it shares quite a few design cues with Miyatas I’ve seen from the same era—although this one doesn’t have U-brakes.

I always thought Centurion was a German brand, but now I’m not so sure. Does anyone know who actually built these frames, or have any information about the Pathfinder? I’d love to learn more about its history.
