I swear this used to be a thing on my older iPhone (I think it was my iPhone 12/13).

My workflow whenever someone read me a phone number over a call was:

1. Stay on the call.
2. Open the Phone app keypad.
3. Type in the number.
4. The call ends.
5. The number would still be there, and I’d tap Create New Contact.

Now on my current iPhone, as soon as the call ends, the typed number disappears. I’ve searched online but can’t find anyone talking about this. Am I remembering this wrong, or did Apple change the behavior in a recent version of iOS?

If anyone still has an older iPhone running iOS 14/15/16, could you test it? I’m genuinely curious whether this was an actual behavior or if my brain just made it up.
