No accommodation available

After a really long wait, St Edmunds college finally sent me their accommodation registration link, but turns out there are none available. I've emailed them asking whether any more would open up, but it seems unlikely. Is there a big difference in college life living outside of college? (Specifically at St Edmunds)

Roast my resume (Need help with screening)

Started applying to a few places and got screened from a few places. My lack of internship/work experience in quant is really coming back to bite me but that's mostly because I only decided to try quant in my 2nd year of university. Looking for advice on things I can join/do to add real value (not just another project to slap on).

Interesting note?: Worked on a CS2 project on finding arbitrage in the skin market which hit a semi-brick wall due to data. Don't know whether including this is even worth.

Recruiting advice for this cycle

The narrative on this sub is that most Graduate positions are filled by each firm's returning internship so I was wondering for advice regarding which positions to apply for.

Context: I will be starting Cambridge Part III this coming October, with projects and extracurriculars about quant but no internship experience.

I was wondering, for a given firm and if given the option, should I apply for their Graduate position or Internship position?

Budget: £2000 (flexible)
Country: UK
Use Case:

While I'm at home I'll probably have it shut, plugged into a monitor to act as a Desktop. But ideally it's small enough to be brought around my campus to work as a standard work laptop, with sufficient battery life that it doesn't need a charger within 2 hours

The most demanding games I play tend to be CPU heavy and I only intend to play it in 1080p but over 300FPS on competitive titles.

Games include: Rust (easily the most demanding on the list), CS2, Dota, Rainbow Six Siege.

Preferred Specs: 1TB storage

Notes: Haven't been keeping up with PC releases nor have I had a gaming laptop in a decade, so any general advice regarding gaming laptops would be great
