This is a 3dprinted version of the starmap from Ahsoka season one.
I am pretty sure the prop in the show was a modified Megaminx puzzle, but I couldn’t find one, because it was last manufactured in 2008… so I modeled it from scratch in Rhino.
It has 12 axis of rotation and 62 moving pieces!

This was a custom sculpt for a player’s character.
I had someone email me today, looking to buy a set of my Guardin’Gnomes.
She was surprised at the price, as she had apparently seen something online significantly less. I warned her about some Chinese counterfeits that were being advertised using my photos.
The counterfeits are just crude knock-offs of my designs. I hope that you haven’t gotten scammed too.

This was a fun little mini. It was a custom request so a unique character mini for someone’s wife.
This is a variation of zenithal priming. Instead of gray or white over black, I use blue-gray and different oranges and yellows to simulate torchlight.
This underpainting affects the colors that will be added on top.
Starting with a black primer, I add a blue-gray ambient light (in the example I’m using an oversized print for clarity).
Next I drybrush orange light from the direction of the torch, keeping aware of where it will hit the model.
Adding yellow to the orange, I do another drybrush pass, closest to the torch.
The flames get the brightest yellow and even pure white in the crevices.
Finally, I paint the colors on top.
I think that the torchlight underpainting helps unify the colors, and gives the mini a dungeon vibe!

This is a raised tabletop that I made a few years ago. The pillars are 3dprinted and are hot-glued to the bottom of a 12” ceramic tile. There are 4 of these together in this picture.
The idea is to raise the map and miniatures above the height of drinks and snacks 😅 (7”)
