Hi I’m conflicted

Went out the other day and met my friends mate, he didn’t maintain eye contact much but eventually when we are at the club he tells my friend that he likes me, fast forward - we danced and he bought me drinks and food and also the uber home but he wouldn’t look at me. Idk if he secretly disliked me but I remembered that whilst we were otw to the club he mentioned how his ex cheated on him quite recently. I think I was a rebound and that’s why he didn’t actually want to make eye contact with me, we met again during the day and again he was really awkward around me, not sure if it was guilt or nervousness. Also kind of interpreted his nice gestures as him being courteous as he is friends with my friend and probably didn’t want her thinking he was a shitty guy, as he knows I’m her bestfriend.
