Transitioning to 4mg

I have 4 more 1.5mg to go before I start my 4mg. The only major side effect I had when I started almost a month ago was pretty bad headaches. I'm wondering if for the rest of my 1.5mg I should alternate each day between the 1.5 and 4 until I'm out of 1.5 to maybe make the transition easier. Is this a good idea or will it just make the side effects last longer? Has anyone else done that?

Btw I only did 1.5mg for one month and it works for me, I've lost almost 9 pounds in less than a month. I figured if I'm paying $150 a month I'd like to increase quickly to 4mg, but I might stay at 4mg for a while since beyond that it gets more expensive.

This will be another quick update: no side effects now. Basically no hunger until the end of the day I feel slightly hungry. Today I'm at my brothers and we made frozen pizza for dinner and I ate too much of it and regretted it. Stomach hurting, but I did it to myself.

This will be my last daily update since my side effects are gone. I guess come back when I eventually move up to 4mg so we can do this all over again 😂

Edit: I just have 1 more pound to lose before I'm under 300, which is exciting!

Today's a quick update because I had a long day at work and need to get to sleep.

Today I did not have a single side effect. No headache, no nausea, absolutely nothing! However the hunger has again disappeared. I ate lunch at noon (was the first thing I ate) and had a grilled chicken sandwich and granola parfait (i dont know why but this medicine has caused me to fall in love with the granola parfait at Chick-fil-A). I tried to eat dinner at 9pm and I did feel like I was hungry but I barely ate anything before I felt incredibly full.

Like I said quick update today. Come back tomorrow for day 7!

Today was much better, I woke up and took the pill and I waited 45 minutes to drink water (before today I always waited 30 minutes). I started drinking water with electrolyte powder in anticipation of the dreaded headaches. To my surprise, they never came. I was so happy that it seemed like I made it past the side effects...

Until this evening around 7PM I started feeling nauseous. At first very slight nausea, and I usually hear others say eating helps. Even though I had eaten plenty today, I decided to eat something light. At first it helped, but soon after it got worse. It started to feel like I needed to throw up. I took a shower and ended up burping a little which helped. Now as I type this I'm back to the slight nausea. I'm hoping this was just a misreading on my part of what my body needed and not a side effect that is going to get worse tomorrow.

Although I started the medicine on Sunday, I weighed myself on last Thursday at 304. Today I weighed in at 301.4. I can't say for sure it's the medicine working or not, because for the past few years I have been hovering between 298-310. But I'm telling myself it's the medicine to make me feel hopeful!

I've never had a diary and this is kinda my version of it, and I hope it helps others as they read it. The main thing I want to be taken from these posts along with others responses below is that everyone's body responds differently to this medicine. Some may lose a lot of weight at 1.5mg where it might take others to get to 4mg, 9mg, or maybe even 25mg to start losing. Also, others may experience pretty bad side effects, and others may not experience any at all! It is different for everyone. I personally don't handle side effects very well at all and in the past I've tried Wellbutrin for depression and I couldn't sleep for a week and gave up on it. I get extreme anxiety from anything that makes me feel different from the norm. I'm so happy I found this community full of people who want to share advice and their experience. Peace out and see you all tomorrow!

Today is day 4 of my journey with wegovy. I have a pretty quick update today since there's not been any major changes today.

Side effects: Still the only side effect I have so far is bad headaches. Today it was so bad that I started getting dizzy. There was also some weather going on today which may have made things worse. Medicine and plenty of electrolytes and water didn't seem to help until the evening. After dinner it seemed to disappear for now.

Main effects: today I was a bit more hungry than I was yesterday. Still could tell it was different than before I started, but I did eat more today and none of the times I ate was because I had to like yesterday.

I'll see you all tomorrow night for day 5!

We are ending day 3 and a lot of people said to keep posting updates as it helps others in their journey!

Starting off with side effects, the worst side effect is still really bad headaches. I took y'all's advice with electrolytes and that did help tremendously at first, but it's like it just put it on pause for a few hours. This evening it came back powerful. The achy feeling I mentioned has gone away. No other side effects so far!

Main effects - this was the first day way I can confidently say I'm beginning to feel the main effects of this medicine. Today was a normal day for me, get to work (at Chick-fil-A) at 7AM, go on break at about 10. Usually by 10 I am pretty hungry. Today, not at all. I still feel full from my chipotle dinner from the night before. Knowing I won't have another chance to eat for a while and knowing I still need to eat something, I eat an egg white grill muffin. I ate it and my stomach almost hurt as if I had eaten too much.

At 2:30PM I had a gap in my shift and I ate a granola parfait, but still not hungry. Then I worked 4:30-7 (I know, my shift today was weird) and then I got home at 7:30 and I was actually feeling hungry a little, as if the medicine had worn off or something. I ate a tuna sandwich, but then I watched tv and wanted a snack and made some popcorn.. and regretted it, it made me feel like I ate too much again.

I'm excited to stay on this journey, and I can say for the first time I'm not anxious to take the pill again in the morning. From what I've read the worst of the side effects usually start in the first few days, so if the headaches last a week or so longer, I can hold out. Just feeling these effects has me feeling extremely hopeful, which I really needed more now than ever.

Thanks for reading and please share your experiences down below!

Edit: I wanted to add a question, has anyone else noticed you're suddenly craving healthier foods on the medicine? As a Chick-fil-A employee I love the friend chicken sandwich. But all the sudden I am now craving grilled chicken options instead. I figured the medicine would reduce cravings, but not change them. Maybe it's just because I'm taking the pill to improve my health so I subconsciously and starting to make other smart decisions too? Idk if it's the pill or just a coincidence!

As day 2 comes to a close, I can't really decide if I feel any positive effects yet. I woke up this morning craving CFA breakfast. Usually my cravings are a chicken biscuit with Colby jack cheese and hashbrowns. Today, I was craving an egg white grill muffin and a granola parfait. This was unusual, and it might be the medicine or it might just be a random decision to be healthier.

The major side effect that has hit me like a train starting day 1 is a terrible headache. I get headaches occasionally, usually if I hadn't had caffeine in a while, but they are always fairly mild headaches and don't affect my work or focus. Yesterday and today have not been that way. These headaches were a different beast. Yesterday I was trying to work on my car putting new wheels and tires on, and my head was hurting so bad I couldn't focus enough to remember which lug nut I had tightened yet. It was incredibly frustrating that I got emotional and started crying. Today was just as bad too.

Another potential side effect I noticed last night was I felt sorta achy like when you get sick with a fever. But I wasn't cold, just achy. I haven't noticed that again since last night though.

I'll be very happy if these are the only side effects I get. Nausea and vomiting are absolutely no fun and I've not experienced any of that yet. I promise I won't update every day, but I'm both excited and anxious to be in this journey and want to share. I have pretty bad anxiety, especially health anxiety, so taking new medicines are very scary to me.
