Has your eyesight ever drastically improved??
I just went to the eye doctor for the first time in 3 years and my prescription went from -2.5/-1.5 to -.75 in both eyes…
To give some background information I (24F) never really needed glasses growing up, in middle school and high school I went to the eye doctor on occasion, and my eyesight wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t enough to necessitate glasses.
Fast-forward to senior year of college and I truly thought I was going blind in one eye and I ended up going to a reputable eye doctor my entire family goes to and that is when I got my current glasses and my prescription of -2.5/-1.5. They had dilated my eyes for the exam.
Now, three years later, I have eye insurance with my new job and I’ve been having trouble seeing at night, so I thought I might need a stronger prescription. I booked an appointment with some random LensCrafters in a mall, which is when I got the news that I basically don’t need glasses. they used some crazy lasers to scan my eyes, and then I did the classic letters in a row tests (did not give me eyedrops to dilate my eyes). I was baffled by the news because I still feel like I have trouble seeing at night even with the glasses I have now. I asked what might be the cause and the doctor said diabetes… As I have recently gotten blood test testing done I know this is not the cause. They said my eyes looked completely fine…
My question to you all is has this ever happened to you? Do you have any ideas on what might be going on? my insurance only covers one eye exam a year so I’ll most likely have to wait another year to see a different provider but I’m curious if you guys have any ideas.
