Total noob here so excuse lack of professional terms but need to use a baseline grid for a university assignment and nothing I look up seems wrong when I cross check with my document…

My text isn’t aligned with the baseline grid no matter what I do.

I noticed each gridline somehow goes small, then bigger then back to small etc.

Any ideas how to fix this? I really don’t understand and it’s super frustrating!
