What the F did I do?
First time using the brush hog on my bx23s and after hearing a godawful sound this piece got spit out. It normally lives above the PTO attachment point. Tractor was delivered with the brush hog on so I trust the 3 point hitch was attached correctly, however since then I had taken it off to install the backhoe on it for a while before reattaching the 3 point hitch last week. That went fine and getting it on the brush hog today went smoothly. And I didn't adjust the threaded rod fittings on the 3 point hitch since it was delivered.
What the heck did I do to cause this mess?
The ground is pretty bumpy where I was working, could that have caused it?
Or did I have it at too sharp an angle relative to the ground?
Not a great feeling seeing a part labeled "TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH Keep PTO shield in place at all times" crumpled up like clay. I'm going to talk to the dealer about this tomorrow but curious if others have seen this before and can advise me on what the heck I did wrong.
