Punishing Creativity

One thing I absolutely do hate about the new patch is that players are heavily punished for trying something even remotely creative. At least with augment sets you could claw back some of the power relative to other people when doing something actually unique, but in the current patch you can't put a foot out of line because you will be punished for being even a fraction suboptimal in your augments and itemization.

Weighted Augment selection

This is entirely personal preference, but I don't think augments should be weighted to certain classes of characters. I like the idea of it being entirely random and having to work with what you have. Sure the lows would be lower, but it would also make god rolls feel more special. As well, it would encourage more build diversity, but that's just my opinion.

Ability Augments not scaling with AD?

Idk if anyone has made a post about this, but I find it super weird that none of the scaling ability augments scale with AD. I understand a lot of them were probably designed with casters and tanks in mind (given the health and AP scaling) but I can think of more than a few Marksman who would benefit from the abilities but get absolutely fucked by the scaling not including AD. I guess it could be a balancing thing, people like Kai'sa and Ez who can scale with AD and AP would be able to double dip, but if that was the concern why not just weaken the scaling and buff the base damage? Ashe is a great example: the "healing + bonus dmg on X ability" I get isn't very strong, but if you're not given really much choice (or god forbid you want to try a build) not being able to scale the augment with AD for an assassin build feels weirdly punishing for no reason.

I'd love to hear other people's thought of it, because I find it to be a genuinely confusing design choice .

Dropkick Fix

It just needs to not heal, lol. If it didn't heal, I'm sure there would still be the occasional game where a tank high rolls and one shots everyone, happens. But at least they'd die. Tanks healing to full from 0 health simply because one ADC happened to drop below 25% health ain't the way.

Frustrations

I feel like part of the problem is that a lot of augments right now enable very non-interactive play styles.The builds aren't interesting because there is 0 dynamism. None of the strongest builds right now enable the player or interesting builds, they play the game for you in a race to see who can make ? the largest % of their DMG. It's not necessarily a bad thing to have some elements of passive damaged but ALL the top builds are just auto turrets with the player sitting still most of the time.

Just Bored

Idk about anyone else but I'm just kind of bored with MAYEHM. The game mode feels super stagnant right now. No new synergies, no new builds, just feels like I'm fighting the same shit every game, lol. I hope the next patch doesn't take too long cause this patch is more stale that last weeks bread.

Play testing?

So ignoring what's really strong and what isn't, there are so many bugs in Mayhem rn it's crazy. Like, half the ability augments aren't working on certain champions, did they not test this stuff on PBE? Did they just ignore a lot of the feedback? I'm seeing bugs still in the patch that were pointed out day 2 of PBE.

Two kind of Augments

I feel like there are two groups of augments that determine how fun I find a game.There are augments that enable you, either changing how your champion interacts with other champions/abilities, and augments that play the game for you and basically remove any requirement to understand or use your champions kit. I'm all for powerful augments but man am I glad sets are going away, and I pray they don't add Firecracker back in any capacity, same with ???.

Anti-sheild

I will never understand Riots refusal to make anti-shield more available in Mayhem and Arena. It's so easy to roll un-counterable amounts of shield without serpents fang, but half the roster can't build it effectively. Just add an AP variation, or better yet, drop the ad from serpents and just make it a double pen item. They can't be this ignorant, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

Band?

It's something I've been thinking about. Should MAYHEM have bans like ARENA? I think it makes sense, and it would solve a few of the problems with 1 - 3 champs seemingly dominating every game. Plus Ban and pick rate Data for riot to use for design and balance purposes. But I can also see why people would be opposed, and it would kind of go against some of mayhems design principles. I'd be interested to hear what people think.

Like, I get wanting to see your powers and combos. But when the enemy has all BIS, we're down 30 kills, and you aren't even playing the game cause you're getting 1-2 shot in .5 seconds, like ??? I don't get it. You aren't even able to play the game? Just stop and save us all the pain of waiting for the enemy team to not end in 20 minutes.
