The r/aram moderation philosophy.

We have a very "non-interventionist" moderation policy here.

Unless something violates 1) The Law 2) Reddit Policies, or 3) Our few very lenient subreddit rules, we let people say and do what they what. And we don't enforce politeness.

The number one mod action we take is reporting abuse of the report button to the Reddit admins. For example, people think it's funny to report a post they don't agree with for self-harm, hate-speech, or targeted harassment when it's really just a difference of opinion or personality conflict.

If you report a post that doesn't violate a law, a reddit rule, or a subreddit rule, it will be considered report abuse and actioned by reddit admins who work with subreddit mods to identify and restrict, suspend, or ban accounts from not just the sub but reddit as a whole.

If you don't like what someone posts, block them, don't report them. (Again unless it violates a rule.)

So speak freely! Agree, disagree, be friendly, be snarky, be serious, be silly. Just don't break the law, reddit rules, or our few simple subreddit rules and you'll be fine.

ethereal weapon blitz bluetooth knock up doesnt work

tried so hard to get this augment and try the interaction for myself and finally got it after like 50 games on blitz, only for it to apparently being patched out

ult passive only procs twice and doesnt knock up
q doesnt knock up when you hook with e active

never been more disappointed of league

This game proves one yet that Riot doesn´t want you to pick melee in Aram

Full melee team vs triple adc

Both teams are unbalanced comps in theory, but we had no trouble smashing them, it was basically a massacre.

Despite having champions theoretically able to shut down adcs, like Camille, Jax and Mordekaiser, the reality is that Aram Mayhem is not meant for you to play something that is not an adc, poke mage or enchanter, everything else is utterly useless unless you highroll or there is a massive skill gap.

The reason is simple, this gamemode is orientated towards casual and new players, both of which usually prefer long range champions who require much less macro and are way less frustrating to play. That is why the aram maps are designed to barely punish positioning mistakes. Everything is open, you always have the enemy in front of you, there is almost no place were you can get ambushed unless you walk into it on purpose.

Ranged champions have more suitable and better augments. Bruisers and tanks have a lot of augments they can barely use, and those also often have massive counters. There are almost no resistance augments, but lots of HP augments which are easy to counterplay. The reason is simple once again, casual players don´t like doing low damage.

Many bruiser/tank focused augments are also naturally better on adcs and mages, who simply outclass everything else in this mode. It´s not rare to see a Jhin with Goliath getting 1.4k ad or a flying kick yunara getting a penta with the execute. Adcs and mages get insane scaling augments, synergies, tons of max and current hp damage, on-hit and range buffs. The rest gets 2k extra HP by the end of the game unless they have insane luck.

This game is just the most recent example I got from this. Even if their builds were kinda bad (Heartsteel was so bad here) it was noticeable from the first minute that they were heavily outclassed and they were entitled to lose because anything that isn´t funny poke battles is actively punished by Riot

Funny Sivir Dropkick highroll

Dropkick, Mystic Punch, Apex Inventor, Poro King. Only got Poro king for like 2 minutes because we rolled them but this was a really interesting and fun Sivir build I just hit

I think it wroked so well because of their team comp, I was able to get 700 Heartsteel stacks at the end and obv I didn't get the quest

Anyone else think Poro King bounce is op?

I swear this is the best general augment for bruisers and tank. 70% DAMAGE REDUCTION every 40s jus sounds too crazy especially compared to other tank/bruiser augments.

No setup required, cc immune, + movement speed, and knocks up all enemies hit. you can't even say to just kite it when most users of this augment have gap closers.

Personal take on how to rebalance giant snowballs - less damage, more utility on travel distance

Seen a lot of discussion on giant snowball and the augment set how much damage they do, etc.

I play a lot of every class, though assassins the least, and I do think the snowball augments are necessary in some form as a potential roll to help melees counter artillery and range comps. But right now, the damage is just stupid and arguably reverses the entire point of snowball

And also frankly, the amount of tank augments and stats compared to damage ones in mayhem is just sad, outside of lucky high rolls. (Like even this why do they flat stat augments for every stat in the game…but armor and Mr? Can’t have that)

I also think frontline falls off quite hard in higher mmr because backline players can actually kite space and position properly

But even if frontline stats are fine, it just feels absolutely terrible to play against ranged as frontline especially solo. In most games (not all, I feel like people always love to give anecdotal single game examples), you are basically afk getting cyber bullied for 70% of the game, 15% dead, and 15% engaging and fighting, doesn’t matter if you win those fights the game doesn’t feel that fun like that

Anyways here’s how I think snowball augments should be reworked:

  1. way less damage. A ton of people just take snowball as a poke augment. Legit plays like old ap dragon form shyvana E spam, you can just take this as an artillery mage and now you have more ranged bullsht to spam. Or just a more reliable cc so that you can land your own hard to hit long range skill shots Or you just take th set as anything and one shot squishies, backline or not

  2. In compensation, it needs more utility

The idea is that the snowballs should gain more max range and travel speed (either in the set or an augment). And for giant snowball, it should be like Nunu W, where it starts small, and grows in size and cc duration the further it travels. Maybe about equal to how it is now at midrange and stronger at max range. The reason for this is so snowball doesn’t just become an anti engage tool that it is rn, cause it’s such a strong anti melee augment atm tbh

Then idk either for snowfall aug or something else, you need more incentive to take the snowball rather than just throw it for damage or to slow them to make it easier to land your own skill shots. Make the initial snowfall weaker but recast stronger after taking it, or silence them after taking it, make the snowfall travel over your head after taking it, something you know.

The idea for these changes is to reduce its use as a poke and nuke tool, and make it more enhancing the engage aspect of snowball, while also tailoring it so that it doesn’t become an anti engage tool at the same time, basically rewarding it for using it as a long range engage, and you don’t reap the real rewards until you take the snowball.

Thoughts?

Another random idea I had is for a big snowball to fragment into a bunch of smaller ones and so it can hit multiple targets and you can choose which one to take

Tier 3 Boots

I'm pretty newish to the game, been playing for about 8 months and have only within the last 2 months started to play Mayhem, so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Why is there no augment for tier 3 boots in Mayhem? Is there something that would be absurdly broken in this game mode that is preventing it? Also, is there something that already exists for it that I just dont see or know about?

A friend of mine had an Aram Mayhem game with 900K damage.. I dont know if its uncommon for this subreddit but I never saw this much damage in one single game. He had Pandoras Box btw.

Changes needed to shake up the Mayhem meta

At this point there needs to be a major balance patch for Mayhem because too many of the augments are useless now, and augment sets are currently the dominant path for achieving broken builds. The mode is starting to feel very stale with the same augments and could use some fresh gameplay.

  • Balance buffs pass
    • Hecarim does not need four significant balance buffs in Mayhem. ADCs do not warrant having buffs at all with how powerful/consistent their augment choices are. Lux does not need 10% nerfs anymore (see Swain). NERF MEL. A handful buffs/nerfs have carried over from regular ARAM that don't make sense for Mayhem. But champs like Bard, Evelynn, Leblanc, Ziggs, Xerath, Brand, etc. definitely are warranted to still retain theirs.
  • Grievous wounds buff to ~55% healing reduction for full build items or "vampire hunter" antiheal augments
    • Antiheal currently feels so underwhelming for how prevalent healing/draintanking is.
  • Add tenacity to augments for fighters/bruisers/assassins
    • Adding tenacity for fighters/bruisers/assassins that ranged can't abuse to some augments would be extremely useful to shift the meta away from ranged dominant teams most games.
  • Augment selection pool rework
    • It makes no sense that Malzahar is getting ADC augments and improved Hubris because his W voidlings have AD scaling. Bruiser/fighter augments are so inconsistent and underwhelming most of the time. Hwei and Morgana are spammed with shield/support augments (not that they are bad champs in the slightest). I'm sure at one point it was cute to try off-meta build, but there is little incentive to that won't piss off your entire team.

    • High roller (and transmute augments)
    • Stackosaurus
    • Snowday
  • Augment set buffs
    • Make it rain
  • Augment nerfs
    • Vampirism (ranged only)
    • ??? (Or just delete it. Nobody likes using this and it's so game-warping and annoying).
    • Biggest snowball ever
    • Celestial body
    • Critical missle
    • Draw your sword (swap lifesteal for resistances)
    • Dropkick
    • First-aid kit
    • Goredrink (ranged only)
    • Pinball
    • Shrink engine (honestly just take it out of Stackosaurus augment set like tank engine)
    • Slow and steady (or delete, this has way too many abuse cases)
    • Void rift
    • Rework adc augments to not give so much free crit to delay how quickly they come online as hyper carries
  • Augment buffs
    • Adamant
    • Blade waltz
    • Keystone augments (Cerberus, Symphony of War, Demon's Dance, Impassable, Keystone Conjurer). It actually might be interesting to add a Keystone Master prismatic augment that gives you every keystone rune or something far more enticing. There is so much potential here that feels LAZY.

Advice: If you get ???, put it on something like your mouse macros or mb3

Settings >Communication > Individual Pings > Enemy Missing Ping

My Issue was that using the ping wheel to ping missing all the time was too much work. Couldnt focus on using spells while pinging. MB3 makes it so I can properly utilize it.

Also pings have 5 second cd so count down from 5 out loud when you dropped your 3 pings

If your support has Sword of Blossoming Dawn, please them auto minions!

Supports are not taking all your CD, barely doing much damage to them so let the attack the minions and heal the entire team. Last him if you want the gold but please let us heal the rest of the team.

Most cases it's ADC and AP just one shitting waves, they're always full hp and the teams need healing.

Sword heals with on-hit, paired with Echos, Moonstone, Runaan etc, it heals substantially!

Also don't istalock Vampirism.

The missing ping augment ruins aram mayhem games

If you get the missing ping augment as first augment the healing is insanely overtuned. You basically cant kill anyone unless you 100 to 0 them in an all in. It needs to be nerfed it completely ruins the game when one team gets it early.

What's your weirdest game?

I had a solo game last week and I'm pretty sure all of us were randos and we all started with prismatic augments. All of us danced at the start which was wholesome right?

But then we just sort of.. never stopped dancing. Nobody wanted to play the game and nobody wanted to kill anyone. We went to Level 7 and people were taking troll augments like Flashy and just BMed the whole time.

Eventually I guess it got boring and the enemy team FFed, we FFed too right after but of course riot changed the FF system way back then so you can no longer have a "no u" or reverse uno moment because it doesn't override anymore.

Buying a chroma in champion select removes your beginning stat anvil in mayhem

Every time I've bought a chroma for blue essence during champ select, I didn't get my starting stat anvil.

Wondering if anyone else has encountered this bug, thanks! (I have already submitted a bug report to Riot, I'm just curious about others' experiences)
