Amazing things are happening there, guys. Trust me. It's as good and hopeful as it sounds.
So one by one all players were eliminated. The red gas was forming around its final area. There was only me and one other player left. I took a spot on the roof, behind the structures, expecting him to show up from any side. He didnt. Time went by, 1-2-5 minutes, nothing. The tension was rising and i was frantically looking in every direction, scanning every opportunity i could, figuring he must've really stock up on red gas neutralizer and sitting amidst the red mist, biding his time. Just out of interest i decided to look down for once and to my amusement, there his was. 5 meters away from me vertically and 10 centimeters away from me horizontally, looking in the other direction, waiting, expecting me from every direction the same way i did, not expecting that i was basically behind him all this time. Although a bit higher. So i jumped down and quickly final death'd him, winning the game.
I feel like, among all the BR games, only in Bloodhunt such a thing could occur, given the verticality and the gameplay structure based on it. Some people say that Bloodhunt had nothing to offer, compare to other BR games, but i beg to differ. And verticality, speed, momentum and freedom of traversal are definetely aspects unique to and done really well in Bloodhunt. Every other BR game feels slow and sluggish after playing Bloodhunt, and its a testament to how Bloodhunt had it's own voice in a crowded genre
My muse, for example, now works at a local drugstore. Selling prescriptions to the cattle, blood bags and syringes to the kindred
Everyone's sharing, decided to join. Wasn't exactly the highest level, so didn't have many items to play with, but did what i could with what i had. Shame there wasn't enough time to play with all of them (usually i mained the enforcer and on the last day of the game got her a fancy coat, but forgot to take a screenshot)
So, this time i was just roaming the roofs Prague, but there was no one in the game. I knew that the server was empty, but i could explore the map freely, for as long as i wanted and go wherever i wanted.
So my question is:
Is it technically possible to actually make an offline version of a game like this? I know that it is next to impossible that such a thing can occur now, but, technically, the steam client still downloads all the assets of the game, even though you can't access them directly. And, in theory, it should be an easier job to access them, rather than try to make a dedicated server (which would be ideal). I would gladly explore prague all by myself. What do you think?
I played on a new map, which was more gothic and more rural than Prague. It had more indoor gameplay, rundown buildings, village houses, etc. I had a really good time, but then, sadly, i had to wake up.
Some people say don't be sad that it ended, be happy that it existed. And i agree with the second part, but boy am i sad that it ended. It's Been a week since the servers closed down, but i still can't believe how such a good game could've just vanished.
I honestly can't understand how there couldn't have been an offline mode with bots or something similar. So many good assets lost, such beatiful art destroyed.
All i can hope for is if the Bloodhunt community will continue to exist and be active, the developers might notice it and do something about it. This is less cope and closer to despair.
Never the less, i'm proud of this community still existing and being active and i'm proud to be a part of it. And i sure as hell plan on continue posting here.
What i'm saying is, the bloodhunt can still continue in the form of this subreddit if we keep on posting! I sure want to do so. Speaking for myself, i have about 4 hours of video footage from which i can gather some moments and also have an idea for Bloodhunt graffiti.
Do you have any further plans regarding posting here?
