How can I improve my CV? Career advice?

I have now been trying to find a job since several months, without success. I would greatly appreciate if some of you could give me a feedback on my CV. Here attached is a possible CV that I would send to apply for a behavioral-analytics position.

More information regarding my background:
I have a training as a researcher in psychology, meaning that I am not competent to improve people's health. I did a PhD in cognitive psychology, before moving abroad to continue working as a postdoctoral researcher. I went first in France (one year), followed by the German-speaking part of Switzerland (3 years) and went back to Belgium three years ago. Getting a job as a researcher is extremely difficult, even when applying anywhere in Europe (let alone specifically Belgium). I recently moved to Antwerp and am looking for a job mostly in the region. That said, I am also looking in Brussels.

I am fully aware that my professional experience is irrelevant to industry jobs. It is therefore difficult to claim 10 years of relevant experience. I believe that I have very good transferable skills though. I analyzed a lot of data, ran a lot of statistical models, and have really good communication skills.

I am French-speaking and my Dutch isn't great at all. I have been taking Dutch classes since two years and will start intensive classes in September. I am fully aware that not being fluent in Dutch isn't helping. Despite this, I would really love making a career in Flanders and being able to speak Dutch fluently.

I am mostly applying for data analytics positions, but never managed to get an interview. I only got an interview for a pre-sale job because it required fluency in French and my analytical skills were appreciated. I am now starting to look specifically for jobs in Antwerp where French is absolutely essential, even if that doesn't correspond to my dream job or if it is an entry-level job. My impression is that French might be an advantage, even if fewer positions exist in the first place.

If you have ideas regarding alternative career paths, I would gladly take those. Data analytics is the most straightforward transition for a profile like mine, but I am clearly open to alternatives.

I recently switched from Nordfox (dark theme) to Dayfox (light theme). It is really refreshing to switch back to a light theme.

Blur not working?

It looks like blur doesn't work on my machine. Here is a screenshot of my lua config file + the windows (on the right) not displaying blur. Changing the ignore_opacity rule doesn't make a difference. I use Hyprland 0.56.0 and cachyos 7.1.6-1. Installing hyprland manually or via cmake doesn't make a difference. Do you have any idea what could be the issue?

Sewing repair

Is there a shop or a small artisant in town where I can repair my clothes? I have holes in socks, jeans, a packpack, that kind of small thing. I have no sewing knowledge and would rather repair those clothes than throw them into the bin.

Microsoft Edge saved one of my students

Indeed. I work a postdoc in the academic system. One of the students I supervise had to download a file I currently work on for years in order to complete a task I gave her. It turned out that the file I created myself was in fact a virus!!! Here is a screenshot she took as a proof. For those who can't read French, it's written "Impossible to download - Virus detected". Without the power of Microsoft Edge, I would never have been able to realize that just by myself. Thanks again Microsoft for making my life way simpler. And fuck Linux.

Just seen this reddit after a bad experience with Microsoft Edge

I initially wanted to find a subreddit to rant about Microsoft Edge, and I randomly ended-up here. So here is the setup I use since 11 years. I probably saved hundreds of euros so far. Do you guys have a good shaving soap to recommend? I am based in Europe (Belgium). Kusje

De Wever and Antwerp

Currently living in Liège, I will soon relocate to Antwerp. When I tell this to people here in Liège, their reaction is the following: Antwerp is the city of Bart De Wever. Since Bart De Wever is a xenophobic, flemish nationalist and right-winged politician, therefore Antwerp must be a city full of xenophobic people, with huge inequalities between the rich and the poor. I would like to have your take on this.

Here is my personal take: I will move to Antwerp precisely because I can feel that the decision makers there built a city where potential inequalities are less marked. Liège is a giant highway/parking lot where cars (and therefore people with money) have all the power. Pedestrians and cyclists are treated as second-class citizens. If you don't have enough money to have a car, you can always take the shitty buses from the TEC and get stuck in traffic with all the cars. Talking about exclusion, there is a clear fracture between those taking the car and those taking the buses in the city. Most people commuting by bus are part of a social minority (black people, muslims, poor people wear clothes with holes). In the same vein, you will not see people with a physical disability in the street by themselves, because none of the infrastructures are built for them. Good luck crossing a road from one sidewalk to another in Liège with a wheelchair, or even using a sidewalk at all. Contrary to this, I frequently see people in wheelchairs using bike lanes by themselves in Antwerp, and it looks like many of the side walks are built with these kinds of accessibility in mind. A lot of buildings also have ramps to reach another floor. One could always say "well, that's a money issue and most infrastructures are old in wallonia". But even the newly built infrastructures are similarly unfriendly for people with a physical disability in Liège. I understand that the leftist decision-markers in Liège are supposed to be more inclusive on paper. But when looking at what actually happens in practice, this is clearly not the case.

Please, be respectful and constructive in your comments.

Font issue

Is anyone experiencing issues with fonts after a recent update? It looks like all the suckless tools (dwm, dmenu, st) display a weird font instead of the usual one (JetBrainsMono). A few things:

- I don't have such issues using alacritty or any other non-suckless softwares
- Similar softwares such as dwm or dmenu have this issue. This is not only st.
- It looks like I can't even change the default font anymore. Fonts such as Times or Arial won't work either. I attached screenshots to give examples comparing st vs. Alacritty.
- It doesn't look like this is an issue related to the fonts themselves, as the fonts work using other softwares (such as Alacritty, libreoffice, etc).

mpd on a raspberrypi

I am trying to configure mpd such that it plays on my computer the music stored on my raspberrypi, to which I have access via my local network. Do you have any recommendation or documentation where to start? I have to mention that I have no training in computer science. I run these kind of projects during my free time.
