Turning 40 this month and buying my first Cayenne Turbo! Torn between two very different specs (Luxury vs. Sporty)

Hey everyone,

I’m celebrating my 40th birthday this month and decided it’s the perfect time to treat myself to my first Cayenne Turbo. I have two options on the table, both are the same price, and the mileage difference is negligible (only about 9k miles apart). Both are currently getting a PPI at the local Porsche dealer.

Assuming both pass with flying colors, I’m completely stuck on which one to choose because their specs go in very different directions.

The Baseline (Both cars have this):
2019 Cayenne Turbo
Quartzite Grey Metallic
PASM & PDCC
PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brakes)
21” Exclusive Design wheels in Jet Black Metallic

Option 1: The "Executive / Luxury" Spec

Performance: Full Sport Exhaust System (PSE).
Interior: Club Leather Interior in Truffle Brown/Cohiba Brown.
Tech & Comfort: Lane Change Assist (LCA), Ambient Lighting, and Soft Close Doors.
Vibe: Very elegant and comfortable daily driver.

Option 2: The "Sporty / Aggressive" Spec by JGG

Exterior: Full SportDesign Package including SportDesign side skirts, LED-Matrix headlights in Black, High-gloss black window trim, and Black roof rails.
Performance: Sport tailpipes in black (but not the full Sport Exhaust System like Option 1).
Interior: Carbon fiber interior trim, Carbon fiber steering wheel, and Bordeaux Red seatbelts.
Vibe: Much more aggressive and visually cohesive from the outside with all the blacked-out accents and the SportDesign bumpers.

The Dilemma:
Option 2 looks incredibly mean and cohesive on the outside with that Quartzite Grey + Black accents + SportDesign combo. However, Option 1 has the gorgeous Truffle/Cohiba Club Leather, and PSE.

Which way would you lean?
Does the exterior presence of the SportDesign package outweigh the Club Leather and PSE?

Would love to hear your thoughts! You can write on comments Executive or Sporty

2019 Turbo vs 2024 Base for $45k more?

Hi everyone,

I’m celebrating my 40th birthday this month and decided it’s the perfect time to treat myself to a Cayenne.

I have two purchase options on the table with the exact same mileage (14,000 miles) and I need your input:

Option 1: 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo (V8 Biturbo).
Option 2: 2024 Porsche Cayenne Base (V6, facelift and new screens).

The catch is that going for the 2024 Base means paying an extra $45,000 USD.

For the experts out there: Is it worth paying that massive $45k premium just for the tech and redesign of the 2024, or am I better off saving that money and going with the brute force of the 2019 Turbo's V8?

Let me know your thoughts!

Cayenne Turbo Dilemma: The Heart vs. The Brain

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to pick up a used Cayenne Turbo to let someone else take the massive initial depreciation hit, but I’m completely torn between two options and could really use some advice. I’m based in the Dominican Republic, where it's very common to import cars from the US.

I have two cars on the table right now, with a $10,000 USD price difference between them:

Option 1: The Emotional Choice (2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe) - $10k USD more expensive

Origin: Imported from the US.
Specs: Black exterior, Bordeaux Red interior (looks absolutely stunning).
Pros: It has the "holy grail" of factory handling options (PDCC, Rear-Axle Steering, Sport Chrono, etc.).
Cons: It has 84,000 miles on the clock. That kind of mileage on a complex biturbo V8 makes me really nervous long-term.

Option 2: The Rational Choice (2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV) - $10k USD cheaper

Origin: Local car, originally bought at the official Porsche dealer here. Not used much by previous owner.
Specs: Dark Grey exterior, Black interior.
Pros: Only has 17,000 miles.
Cons: It’s lacking the big performance extras: no rear-axle steering and no sport exhaust system. Also, I noticed the front bumper has been repainted (I assume it was just a cosmetic touch-up, but it triggers my OCD a bit).

The Dilemma:
Is it worth paying the extra $10k and taking on the maintenance risk of an 84k-mile V8 just to get the Coupe body style and that perfect handling setup? Or would I be crazy to pass up a 17k-mile SUV with local dealer history that’s $10k cheaper, even if it means sacrificing the agility of the rear-axle steering and the sound of the sport exhaust?

For those who own or have driven the 9Y0 platform: How critical is rear-axle steering for daily driving? And what kind of maintenance nightmares should I expect as the Coupe approaches the 90k-mile mark?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
