Musicbed Challenge 2026 big issues

The Deadline for Musicbed Challenge 2026 (a short-film competition run by the stock music company Musicbed) is 5pm UTC today, August 14, per their own terms and conditions. It’s currently morning UTC, well before that cutoff, but the submit button on my film’s page has been replaced with “voting opens soon.”

I have a finished film ready to go and no way to submit it. I’ve emailed Musicbed twice and messaged them on Instagram with no response yet.

If anyone from Musicbed sees this, or if anyone has run into the same thing and knows a workaround or alternate contact, I’d appreciate it. I don’t want to miss this over what looks like a site error.

Which one would you click on?

Hey, looking for help picking a thumbnail for my hitchhiking China video. I hitchhiked 3000km across China and got stopped by police multiple times along the way. This would be the first episode of three and I only encountered the police at the start.

Title: Hitchhiking 3000km in the World's Strictest Country

Questions:

  1. Should I lean into the police angle or does it just look confusing without context?

  2. Does Option A and C work even without the police, or does it feel too generic for a video where the police stops are a somewhat big part of the story?

Thanks

Your “Failed” Video Might Just Be Early

Two weeks ago I uploaded a video I genuinely believed in.

At that point I was 5 videos into my YouTube journey. I started 3 months ago, posting every two weeks. Every upload before that did around 500 to 600 views.

This time I went obsessive.

I studied all my previous videos trying to understand what was wrong:

  • Why people clicked or didn’t click
  • Why retention dropped

I tried to improve everything. Pacing, storytelling, editing, hooks, sound design. I put an insane amount of effort into making this video feel high retention without losing personality.

Then I uploaded it.

200 views, 1.8% CTR, 1:30 AVD.

Honestly, it crushed me a little. Because this was the first video where I felt like I had truly leveled up, and I totally didn't understand why it wasn't getting pushed, it didn't make any sense to me.

Then five days later YouTube suddenly started pushing it.

Views started climbing fast.
1k.
5k.
10k+.

It's now sitting at 11,000 and still growing.

That video became my first breakthrough.

I’m writing this because I know a lot of people quit too early. Sometimes the video you think failed is just waiting for the algorithm to find the right audience.

Don’t let early numbers decide whether you continue or not.
