Hello, I’m looking ship my 2022 Mercedes GLE 450 from San Antonio 78258 to anywhere near EWR airport. It has to arrive between August 17 and August 20 because I will be flying into New York and then driving the car to my final destination.
The DOT says tarmac delays must not exceed three hours, and we sat on the tarmac for five hours at CLT.
We taxiied to the runway as usual on time, but ended up sitting there for hours as storms passed through CLT. Even after storms cleared up, we started having engine issues and had to return to the gate, but it took hours and hours before they could find an open gate. The flight ended up being cancelled. My employer booked me a hotel; American offered to pay for my hotel but I declined.
Is there anything I can do to get more compensation besides AAdvantage miles? I almost exclusively fly Delta and United.
