Are there any benefits of becoming a hostel council member of cultural council, mess council, wellness council, is there any work to do ??

How are csr and sponsorship, ngo relations, environmental and energy, health and hygiene, management verticals in NSS? What we actually have to do and how are they in general?

I am in my first year and want to know about nss, not just theoretical points but what actually we will have to do. I am not able to get into nso in the sports i play and not much intrested in ncc. I can however try for athletics or hockey or any other sport which I haven't played yet but has less competition, which one would be better and how is the credit system in nso and nss and which one would be easier.
