Hi everyone, I’ve got some MKs with upgraded brass and gold plated hardware. I’m worried about the hardware oxidising as I heard this can happen with brass.

Does anyone have advice on:

\- The best way to store your MKs/birkins?

\- Any products to prevent tarnishing/oxidation

\- Whether anti-tarnish strips or silica packets help?

Also, if anyone has long-term experience with their gold-plated brass hardware, has yours oxidised? Did you do anything to prevent this?

Honestly really upset with my experience with Kiki factory.

I went with KIKI for my first birkin because of the high recommendation.

I ordered a Birkin 25 black with GHW for 1,450 USD. When I received the QC photos, I pointed out a few concerns:

- The logo stamp was not clean

- The back arrows were uneven and did not line up properly and the shape of the bag was uneven

Instead of properly addressing the issues, it felt like they were trying to gaslight me into thinking the bag was completely fine when the flaws were clearly visible. I was happy for them to remake it because at this price point I should not have to accept a mid-tier looking bag.

After loads of back and forth of them trying to convince me the bag was acceptable, they eventually said they would not remake it (as I asked) but would refund me instead.

I chose PayPal for the refund, but they sent it as G&S without telling me this is what they’d select, which meant I lost around £25 in transaction fees on the refund. If they had explained that they would send as G&S on the refund, I would have chosen Wise instead. I asked if I could refund them on PayPal (including the transaction fees) and for them to refund through Wise but they refused and were really dismissive about me losing the money.

To be fair, the actual process of making the bag and updates were handled well when I asked for them. But the moment I flagged QC concerns, the professionalism disappeared completely and they were actually laughing at my misfortune of the transaction fee deductions.

Extremely extremely disappointed.
