How to trust chicken from the store as someone who orders for delivery (cooking from raw)
Delete if not allowed, but I dont know where else to go to get real human info about this specific query.
Kinda confusing title, but I have SEVERE emetophobia. Chicken is one of the foods that I have kind of completely removed from my diet (Sprouts' buffalo chicken nuggets are the only exception). I was also blessed with the knowledge of US food safety training, so I'm kinda terrified when it comes to chicken. I have a slew of reasons I cant leave the house or go to the store in person, so I have to order through walmart, or instacart.
I already have a meat thermometer, I know all the warning signs of time/temp abused chicken. But my brain tells me that I dont understand the signs, or that even though I know something has been time/temp abused, what if it is a trick (? idk).
Please, someone give me some peace of mind. I really miss chicken. I always overcook my food, so cooking it to temp isnt an issue. mainly just how can I build trust with chicken.
