My Rival reached it's final form, and it feels amazing

I am approaching 4000 rounds with this bad boy and I could not be happier with how it feels after the upgrades.

  • Sprinco Performance Kit with yellow spring
  • Sprinco 29 Newton Striker Spring
  • Sprinco Competition Trigger Kit
  • Taylor Freelance Brass Backstrap
  • Taylor Freelance mag release button
  • Taylor Freelance +4 basepads (using OEM spring and follower)
  • Freedomsmith Zombie Pro trigger
  • Cyelee Chameleon SRS8 Red Dot

I put 700 rounds through it yesterday without a single issue using 550 rounds of 115gr HSL reman and 150 rounds Blazer 124gr.

The Freedomsmith trigger feels amazing. Especially paired with the Sprinco 3.5lb trigger kit.

I picked up but haven't tested yet the Super Vel sample pack (115,124,147) and Zeroed Ammunition 135gr and 147gr competition rounds.

Rival slide slop when racked. Normal?

I put the Sprinco recoil spring kit in recently and noticed it. Put the OEM parts back in and it still does it.

I can’t tell if I just didn’t notice before or I caused this.

I put 700 rounds through yesterday without issue.

Can someone with a poly Rival please let me know what yours does?

Cyelee Chameleon SRS8 on my Rival

Recreated post as images weren't attached

I am very happy with this for $200. It looks great, held zero after 600+ rounds yesterday.

The glass is very clear with a subtle tint. The dot is perfect, no blooming or speckling (not sure what that's called). Zeroed at 15 yards. That target pic is the end of the day, outside shots are me trying doubles (and failing).

I am certain I will grab another if this holds up for the next couple of range trips.

Great deal on spare mags from Atlantic Firearms, thanks for the recommendation!

Shout out to u/M3AT7R4IN for posting about the magazine sale. I've never used Atlantic Firearms so I'm always a little skeptical with a new retailer. These seem to be legit which is great. Even not on sale these are cheaper than direct from Canik.

I ordered 2 of the 2-pack 18 round mags for my Rival that came in today. I think I might grab a few more packs at that price.

Pics: Left mag came with Rival, right is from AF

What a great day! My very first can in hand.

It felt like an eternity, but only around 2 months from deciding to buy to picking up my Stacy's Mom.

Marshmallow approved.

It was a beautiful day and I had 2 new toys to try out. The RM1C and the Canik SFx Rival.

I started pretty close at 7yds just to get the feel of it, then moved out to 25 yds. Unfortunately the baseplate for the optic was coming loose, so I was only able to put about 130 rounds through it before I moved on.

First impressions, I really like how it feels in my grip. The recoil was more of a 'pop' than a 'snap'. Not sure if that makes sense. Very manageable recoil and even with the optic issues I still had some fairly good groups at 25 yds. I definitely need more time with it to tighten up.

I started off with Federal Champion 115gr that I use for range plinking. It shot without any feeding issues, but the ejection was always right in my face, literally shot straight up in the air. I own 7 auto pistols and until now have not had that happen. I swapped out to Sellier & Bellot 124gr and the ejection issue went away. I'm not sure if it's specific to Federal cartridge or the grain. I think however this bad boy needs the good stuff so from now on, it gets only the premium ammo.

One of the other range visitors had to come over and check it out. Was pretty pleased with the look and feel. I offered him a magazine to try it out but he refused.

Overall, this was a blind buy that I am very happy with, and I can't wait to go back out with it.

Saw it on that YouTube video and instantly wanted to try one. None of the LGS in my area had one to get a feel for, so I just ordered it on blind faith.

I grabbed the kit with optic, extra mags and range bag. So far, not really impressed with the optic.

It feels great in my hand and I can't wait to take it to the range!
