feeding schedule?

Hello! I currently have two female BDFBs, and i've had them for just under a month now. I've done research on their diet and believe I have everything necessary, but I was wondering just how often to feed them?

I've been putting a bit of their regular food mix in, a few fresh killed mealworms/shrimp/crickets (i swap occasionally), and when I have it, some veggies. I let it sit for a day or two before swapping it out, however sometimes they don't touch their food for up to two days (noticeably, at least).

I also live in an area where it's difficult and expensive to get vegetables from stores (I live about 30 minutes away from the nearest grocery store), and salad mixes and vegetables don't always last that long. They're also super picky with vegetables, and so far they only seem to be a fan of carrots. I'm gonna try out some beetle jelly and see if they like that, as i'm worried about their hydration levels.

So, how often should I feed them, and how often should they get vegetables? I assumed it was with every meal, but I don't want to over feed!

Does anybody know what these are?? Yesterday I set up my new enclosure for my BDFB, and i bought 4 flat pieces of wood from amazon to line the tank walls. Today, I found these. I removed it from the tank and haven't found any others or anything out of usual. Help please 🙏

Completed my setup today!

I made a post the other day of my unfinished setup, and today i got the last of my stuff in! Had to completely redo it with new substrate, ~2hr later i have a sore back and a new tank!

Anything I need to change or replace?

How does my setup look?

Please excuse my poor picture taking skills! 😭 The first picture is from a few days ago, and i can't get a good one now without tons of reflections and glare.

I somehow managed to miss the fact that they need multiple layers of substrate. I have an order coming in for a second layer, as well as some different sand. I'm also subbing out the larger rock in the middle for another hide, and more pieces of wood & sticks to add in for climbing. I'm not a fan of all the rocks, which is why i'm switching, but I definitely underestimated the size when buying this tank, and they love to climb.

It's a 10 gal with 2 beetles (i do plan to get more). I'm very open to any feedback and tips!! I'm a first time owner and 100% to do whatever they need.

Missing leg?

Hello! I recently bought and started a bern enclosure, and today I went to pick up my second beetle. It appears that the lower half of her middle leg is missing. (i'm not too sure on the correct anatomy terms 💔 so my apologies) I've circled the area on a stock image I found since I'm not able to get a picture right now.

My main question is if this is going to be an issue/cause problems later on? I know there probably isn't much I can do since she is just a beetle, but I would like to know if it's gonna cause any significant issues.

What other reptiles could work for this enclosure?

Hello!! I recently bought a Chameleon cage/tank, fully mesh screening, 16' x 16' x 30' I believe. I originally bought it to use for millipedes without realizing it was entirely mesh and wouldn't be able to lie on its side. I've looked into purchasing Chameleons before but don't think i'm quite interested in owning one, and the type of care and setup they need likely wouldn't work for me. Are there any other animals that would work in an enclosure like this?
