Gameboy on an RLCD,

I have gotten a port of Peanut-GB running on an ESP-32 device I have with a 4.2" RLCD panel. Theres no audio yet but what does everyone think about making a handheld with a modern RLCD? The panel is not backlit and is only monochrome but still looks pretty cool using dithering to mimic the DMGs original 4 shades of gray. I was thinking about making a horizontal homage to the original gb with it. Ive got some parts on order to try and get some controls put together so I'll post an update if anyone is interested the project.

for those wanting to see it in motion theres a video on YouTube.

RgRotate improved dpad mod.

Just for jokes, In all honesty the dpad isnt that bad. The Rotate has its flaws and I'd recommend many other handhelds first, but It is unique and a breath of fresh air in a crowded space.

There is a secret homebrew mode in the MRUpdater that lets you flash any gb/gbc rom to your Chromatic carts. I've seen posts that mention it as a possibility but no instructions or links. I imagine it wasn't included in the MRUpdater to prevent piracy or maybe its intended to be released in the future. You just need to patch the official MRUpdater.exe from ModRetro to unlock it. Its a fun thing to do and I kinda like swapping carts but using expensive game carts that only hold one game is a little silly when flash carts like Everdrive exist. but for anyone interested, links are below.

You must install python first then just download and run the patch_mrupdater.py

Navigate to your MRUpdater.exe and click patch.
