Finished up my first 2 2011s recently. Thanks to everyone that helped with the slide fitting issue I had.

Builds went pretty good. Mosin virus, Hayes, and engineers armory were all helpful for different aspects.

Had lots of trouble with the hood/upper lug situation. And then of course the lower lugs were tedious to fit.

Way over cut the triggers. Both are pretty loose. But using them for now.

Only specialized tools I really used were the barrel alignment block, barrel holder, and reamer. I bought the lower lug cutter but it was terrible. It would not cut the lug evenly no matter what I did.

Atlas slide and barrel. Cheely frame and grip. Small parts are either egw or atlas.

I put 50 rounds through each before blending. Had the triggers screwed all the way in so the guns would only fire when using the top of the trigger. But the triggers are now in the 3-4 pound range and working great.

These builds were a ton of learning. Ton of frustration. But I am very happy with them in the end. Right when I finished I said “never again”. But now a couple weeks later and I’m already planning my next builds.

Need to get some mag holders and these will be used hard at USPSA and 3 gun.

Building an era us clone, looking for trigger shoe suggestions. It is atlas slide cheeley steel ldc frame, Icarus grip mode(huge regret on the grip mod), double tap shielded safety’s,, cheeley pinned grip saftey, d2 custom comp. I need a trigger shoe and mag well. I’ve run atlas and red dirt in my last 2 builds, does anyone know if tti sales the trigger the put in the viper series? Does anyone have experience with fusion triggers. I like the flat open xp trigger. Kinda looks like the infinity for half the price.

2nd note on that. I need a steel magwell. Who makes a SS magwell (or brass) that fits the gen1 grip style. Any suggestions?

Picked up my first 2011 on Sunday. Gen2 Romulus w an aluminum frame 4.25” comped. Haven’t shot it yet but very excited to. Gun feels very well built. Any issues to look out for?

I am looking for a new grip safety because my thumb is slowing the slide down. I can’t decide between a lowered safety or a high shielded safety. What words of wisdom do you all have for me.

Also while scrolling through all the various options I noticed on 2As website they show a demo gun as one with custom molded palm swells on the grip module. How would one do this? I don’t see any info online about it and it seems like a good idea. Why don’t more shooters do this considering every bullseye gun you’ll see has molded grips.

After designing, modeling and printing a few prototypes I've finally got a thumbrest that is perfect (atleast for me). I went ahead and machined it out. I always hated how normal thumbrests sit so high and/or far back but now I can finally roll my support hand forward and lock my wrist while using a thumbrest, to me its more for a good index point without riding the slide but this one feels great compared to all the others I have tried over the years.

I wanted to get this done before I started sandblasting and coating everything so the next time I post my build will be 100% finished.

Just about finished upgrading this prodigy.

Frozen trigger with mag installed. Ran fine for 400 rounds. Now it won't fire with a magazine.. Fuck Red Dirt Triggers and making extra failure points and causing reliability issues.
