I’ve fully restored my 240, and of course life means I may now have to sell it.

Had it 5 years. It was a shit heap when I got it, replaced all the panels, removed the rust, fresh gaskets everywhere, repainted factory white, fixed up and rebuilt the engine. Twin cam KA, hks headers, hks exhaust, nismo LSD, 5 lug swap, egr delete. Turbo prepped.

It runs smooth enough to be a daily now, and frustratingly life has gotten in the way to result in needing to probably sell it.

Wondering what it might be worth. I’d prefer to not sell it.

How much do you think it would cost to get pro shop to build sr20det

I've been shopping around to get my sr20det built by a reputable shop and been getting wildly different quote prices, some places are very specific about what you will get for what amount of money and others are quite vague.

Im wondering what you guys think it should cost to get a somewhat reliable 350 whp build, im not going to be drifting the car.

If I were to put 25k usd into the engine on this car what kind of power would you expect to be putting down and what power ranges should I be thinking about changing the transmission and rear diff to something stronger as well.

I just love the sound of my CA18

Also finally figured out how to replicate the HKS F-Con V Pro limiter which I’ve been wanting for ages! 🤩

Anyone know what specifically this is?

I have a 93' 240 with a dual cam. Been trying to diagnose rough rpm issues, found this tube closed (probably a bad DIY from the last owner). Felt it yesterday when working on the car, and air is still blowing out of the pipe even with it being squeezed, guessing this could be one of the reasons for the rpms bouncing everywhere. Anyone knows what specifically it is, and what size plug i need to delete this completely?

1 month later..

I finally got around to stitching and sealing my fenders in prep for wide body 😂

Going to end up adding fiber glass to the bottom wedge sections. The metal is so thin it’s hard not to blow through it. At least for my level of skill.

How much would you pay for something like this?

Best friend was a machinist and rebuilt my engine and I was present during all of it to ensure no corners were cut.
other best friend has helped me put it all together, and it’s running and can drive but it’s not tuned yet. after the dash gets put all together, how much do you think this car would be worth? I had 8k as a number due to the no guessing reliable work that’s been done to it, as it’s just a rebuilt oem KA24DE with a short throw shifter and an exhaust. I just know this community is plagued with “I know what I have” and “that’s not even close to worth it” and I just don’t know, I’ve seen other cars with kits and wheels for cheaper, but nothing that tells me I can trust it. so I wanna hear your thoughts, I’m right around the corner from finally being able to drive my dream car.. but I crashed my daily and I need something as soon as possible.. am I asking a stupid price?

PowerFC Commander Pro tuning

Not sure if this will reach the right person, but I have an old school Apexi PowerFC with the commander pro. When I go to connect it to my computer with the serial port to usb adapter, I get this message on the software. It’s a Ver. 1 commander pro unit and the Ver. 2 commander pro software since there’s nowhere to find a download to the Ver. 1. Any help appreciated.

18x9 fitment

Heya,

Just looking for some fitment advice, in 18x9+23. On a stock body s13 hatch with mint unrolled rear fenders and I want to try to keep them that way. I don't mind rolling the front fenders, running camber etc..

I know a popular stock body fitment is 17x9+15 (i.e. G33's).

Just want to confirm I can get away with 18x9+23 not having to roll the rears and clear coils as well?

(Looked on rimtuck, just want some advice here too)

Thanks for the help

S15 OEM Pop up Screen

I just bought this S5 with the pop-up screen. It doesn’t pop up all the time when I turned the car on and it doesn’t seem to work with the buttons. Any advice on how I can fix this issue and if there’s any aftermarket screens I can install that would be very helpful.

How dailyable is an sr swapped 240?

I currently have an opportunity to trade my 6mt 370z for an sr swapped 240. I know it probably won’t be as reliable but I also have a c5 corvette for back up. Granted, the 370z has never let me down over the last 4 years I’ve owned it. Are sr’s pretty reliable? The swap looks very well done.

KA24DE crank no start / running rough with injectors plugged in

Ok so hear me out. I know many people don't take time to answer on posts like this because it is heavy to read, but I'm hopeless here.

I have a 1993 vert with the famous KA24DE.

Last year my car broke down on the road and it wouldn't start back up. Was just cranking. I was running rough at 200-500RPM and the engine was shaking badly. If I were to press on the gas it would die. Then I towed it home and the fun of finding the f***** issue began.

In the last year, I've been diagnosing EVERYTHING on the car and I still can't seem to find the issue. I'm clearly not a mechanic but it freaks me out since those cars are usually so easy to work on...

Here's what I replaced/checked over the last year (and probably forgetting some);

-check if the ECU had codes, none found

-Cleaned the IAC

-Replaced fuel pump + sending unit + new relays for EGI

-Blew air through the lines to see if clogged

-New fuel filter and injectors

-New MAF and TPS

-New ignitor chip module + temp sensor

-Tested another ECU from another vert same gen, nothing

-Grounded injectors grounds to chassis

-Added + tested brand new engine grounds and everything is fine

-Tested compression, it was perfect

-Then decided to node light test the injectors, everything is fine there

-New FPR with a gauge, can now confirm pressure is perfect and ECU sending proper PSI

-Decided to redo the whole timing, so timing chains, sprockets, new hoses, tensioners, new rad, new water pump, thermostat, new fluids, new belts, new sparkplugs (and they all fire) even changed the oil pump while there

-pulled out the CAS, replaced it and cleaned the whole thing

-New engine mount while I was there for timing)

-I inspected my wiring harness since I'm lowered but the fenders were rolled with harness pulled on both sides and it seemed fine visually

-Smoke tested the whole engine to see if I had a vacuum leak and no leak were found at all.

NOW, whenever I pull out the injector connectors, the car starts but runs rough and dies, and when I plug them back in, the car just cranks without starting.

Also tried the flood mode and nothing works.

Please can someone enlighten me or I start pulling every part one by one and sadly selling everything on eBay waiting for a swap someday lmfao!!!

1997 180SX Type X modified brakes

Greetings all,

I am currently refreshing my pads and rotors on my 180. I mistakenly ordered ROFU rears from Drift HQ, they fit the lugs but are not a big enough diameter. My rear brakes have spacers on the calipers and the current rotors are 288mm. I'm having a hell of a time finding 288mm rotors that will fit this application, everything I find is 300, 312, 297, 280, or 257mm.

Does anyone know of a good place to look for rotors this size that'll fit a 180SX?

Edit: I have 5x114.3 hubs. The calipers appear to be stock, since my endless type-m brake pads fit.

97 240sx list price?

I apologize ahead of time for this question, but trying to get an idea of what I could potentially sell my 240sx for. I have owned this vehicle since around 2005. It does have rust on the rocker panel (driver side) and clear coat issues. The coilovers also either need to be replaced or rebuilt, as they are a bit old. The rest of the vehicle is rust free and has an uncracked dash. Chassis has about 148k miles while the engine is estimated to be around 50k and runs well. It has a stock sr20det and a clean title. It has honestly been sitting in my garage for the past 10 years with the minimal occasional outing. Thanks for any inputs.
