Updated Demon chain axe

Slightly redesigned, with a new motor and control board. It now runs on regular batteries and also supports phone control (telemetry, sound volume, and motor speed control). The motor is protected by overcurrent protection, and the shaft has been reinforced with an aluminum tube, making it extremely durable and capable of handling powerful axe swings.

Would any of you buy one of these as a phone / key charm?

One of my close friends got into key chain making ! And I happened to have a left over space marine and this ended up looking really nice! ( the shading looks green but it’s suppose to be yellow for imperial fists lol) I was suggesting she would make a killing selling these but I know the minis are pretty expensive. Would you buy one of these?

1st Case, Who Dis?

I heard we're posting pictures of cases!!! I literally just bought one and then my feed started flooding with photos of cases XD At least I'll include the link to the one I got since it is really good!

Brothers, Sisters, and Creatures of the Warp, I demand photos of your cases!!!

P.S. I have yet to actually paint anything because I didn't finish building my 5k points of Adepta Sororitas Army I started last year until I was sick for a month and had nothing better to do than build all my models. Iron Warriors are on the bottom shelf and in the process of kitbashing some Obliterators, Mutilators, and Saturnine Terminators.

I made a Warhammer 40K name generator covering loads of factions

I’ve been messing around with a little Warhammer 40K name generator and finally got it to a point where it feels pretty decent.

It covers a load of factions and styles, lets you pick male/female/any, and you can optionally add faction-style titles and affiliations like chapters, dynasties, septs, regiments, houses, etc.

It’s not using fixed character names, so it should be more useful for naming homebrew characters, crusade forces, RPG characters, kitbashes, custom warbands and that sort of thing.

Totally unofficial and just made for hobby inspiration.

Here it is if anyone wants to try it:

Would genuinely appreciate any feedback, especially if any faction feels off or needs better name styles.

Blade Champion / Demon Slayer Crossover

I love Custodes, I love the anime Demon Slayer. Soni thought of giving it a try.

Also first time free hand on that cloak and OSL with the candles.

Unfortunatly i had no idea how to do a proper flame effect or a fitting bit that represents his flame breathing technique. So please dont be to harsh on me here. C&C is welcome.

Edit:

Tanjiro is a young member of the demon corps who hunts down... demons.

So in my 40k army, he is matured and recruited by big e himself. He now is a guardian of the dark cells and hunts down whatever horror is trying to escape.

The Rise of Herohammer

So I'm getting back into the hobby a bit after a long, long time out. When I last played, back in the tail end of 3rd edition, GW seemed to be pushing players away from armies built around epic heroes and towards relatively realistically balanced forces. Special characters in particular were generally regarded as a thing that should only really come out on special occasions - they were outright banned in tournaments, and most players I knew would have regarded using them in even casual games as a bit of a liberty unless we were trying to tell a specific story (eg Yarrick v Ghaz would have been perfectly acceptable if we were playing an Armageddon themed game).

Now the pendulum seems to have swung very much the other way. Running special characters seems to be not only the norm even in competitive play, but seems to be pretty necessary to make most armies competitive at the highest level. This includes things that are (to my eyes) conceptually ridiculous - like Abaddon and Huron teaming up to lead a force of about twenty marines, or Guilliman and Calgar together leading similar numbers. In the old days, even if the rules allowed it, that would have been regarded as 'dead beardy', as we used to say (I'm assuming that term has not survived), and earned you a public shaming. Even some of the armies that dodge the special character proliferation fall under this umbrella - three demon princes in one army?

This is presumably a policy decision that's been made somewhere, and I assume the key event was tournaments allowing special characters - when and how did it all go down?

To quote Community: I'm not mad, I just wanna know what happened.

TL/DR: when did special characters become so ubiquitous?

What’s your craziest fan theory or headcanon?

Just wondering what everyone’s most messed up theories and HC’s are.

My personal HC is that Catachan is actually a living creature (similar to a Tyranid) rather than a normal planet. Its flora and fauna are moulded by the planet to become the perfect defence mechanism against outside forces. Even the humans that landed became a more deadly version of themselves and, in the event of an invasion, they would work alongside the rest of the world to expel the enemy. They are the planet’s living immune system

Trying to paint the Astartes 2 Schthes of the Emperor

I've been collecting and painting Ultras for almost 7 years. I decided to take the crazy leap of painting one of their successors 😬.

I learned about them in Belasarious Cawl's great works and then had a mini freakout at how badass they looked in the Astartes 2 trailer.

I went through my pile of shame, made a 2k army, and broke my orange and black out for an awesome Scythes of the Emperor army.

I primed with matte black (I didn't realize how much better it is to paint on a matte finish!).

Did a 50/50 mix of Proacryls pink and magenta.

Since my airbrush is buggered I attempted to do volumetric highlights by dry brushing Tamiya white.

Then a layer of Imp Fist contrast, followed by edging it with a 50/50 mix of Vallejo's Ice Yellow and Demonic Yellow.

The chest was then given a coat of Proacryl's rich gold, followed by trusty old Riekland Flesh.

I'm going for battlefield-ready, not parade-ready, so just imagine him 3-4 ft away lol.

Do any of you keep the instructions after you've put your models together?

I've been hanging on to all the manuals for the kits I've bought. Mostly because I do the same with LEGO instructions. Do I need to keep them? Have any of you ever needed them after you've built the model?
