We laugh too hard on it XDD
We started working on this comic thanks to Rogue Trader CRPG. It became a great starting point for exploring Lore Eldar, and for a deep dive into Warhammer, although we had been hanging around wh before just a little. Thank you, Owlcat, for this stream of inspiration, nothing would have happened without your game.
We have finally started translating the original comic related to mythology, history and faction of Eldar. And the story begins...

MadnessDemon: Arzokith (HyenaMurena's incub) and Zegris (my assasin) at... a parade! I was too impressed that the Eldar had horses :D We think drukhari love pathos and ostentation enough to arrange some kind of parades with fanfare, horses, jewelry and lots of gold :DD
Toroidal arenas are racing tracks famous for their deadly racing. Such racing tracks vary significantly in shape depending on the preferences of their creators. But regardless of whether the tunnel route is made of matte silver steel, looks like a burning battlefield, is carved from blood-red quartz, marked with flaming braziers or ugly sculptures of flesh and bones, its purpose is always the same. Just as deadly gladiatorial fights are staged in ordinary arenas below, so every night a high-speed massacre takes place on toroidal tracks between vain and super-aggressive drukhari on jetbike. Their cars roar in circles around the arenas, fighting for the attention of the bloodthirsty crowd.
Mad: I've been thinking for a long time about showing Marae in comparition to humans :> He's a bit taller here than he actually is, let's just imagine that human is just a short type :DD
Mad: The Guardian-Scribes of the Black Library are described as one of the most terrible inhabitants of the Webway (along with Solitaire, and they are all associated with Cegorach, WHAT A COINCIDENCE) and inspire fear in the rest of the Eldar. Well, except for the White Seers who hang out with them right there in the Library.
In fact, they are combat librarians who are engaged in both rewriting books and protecting the Library from wandering fools :D
I was guided by the only (seemingly) official image of the Guardians, plus I took some parts from Geoff Taylor art, because the design is clearly similar.
Mad: In the Dark Eldar trilogy, it was mentioned that some Scourges make insect-like wings. Well, I don't need much for concept art :D
The wings are pretty high-tech: the membrane has some sort of holographic pattern that can be changed as desired. You can even upload gory animations :D When they need to hide and the pattern is too bright, the membrane's transparency can be toned down or even completely transparent.
These are our minor characters with a co-author who participate in the main plot of the comic, and everyone has their own personal little plot.
They all live in the Marae Tower, are extremely loyal to him, and some to each other, and try to abstract themselves from politics. However, they also worry about Commorragh, because, well, they live here, so they participate in big events that affect the whole city. This is not Kabal! Marae is a mercenary boss, and he just managed to gather a large number of rabble around him, some of whom became loyal to him. Their Tower doesn't even look very impressive, and it's small compared to Commorragh's spires. They also all live in Lower Commorragh, and even Leah's mother, the Archon, is the archon in Lower Commorragh.
Our main character (Marae) is not here yet, but there will be an illustration with him too!
Arzokith, like all incubi, is completely neutral to issues of hierarchy and Kabal politics. His devotion is undeniable, he zealously follows the code and is faithful to his master to the point of gnashing his teeth. He quickly gained a formidable and bloody reputation immediately after passing the test. In the Temple, his rage was not suppressed—they did not try to eradicate it, but redirected it. Arzokith was trained in a technique in which each stroke of the klaive was synchronized with his breathing — this pacified his wild nature, as the hierarch said. Arzokit was seen as a test of faith. The Hierarch considered that if the Twisted Blade could tame even this aggressive monster, then the Temple's techniques had achieved perfection. Arzokit devotes time to grueling physical training every day. His whole life is closely connected with the constant improvement of the body. And now he has given himself to the eternal service of his new master. Their contract with Marae is indefinite.
Zegris is our assasin and controls a small elite segment consisting of fifty lightweight assassins, 25 Drukhari in a group. Only half of them are taken on a raid: the segment is extremely important for Marae, and it is also easier for Zegris to control a small group. Zegris and his subordinates are "glass cannons": one hit is enough for them to kill an average enemy, but they are lightly armored and are easy to disable. Of course, you have to hit them first: they move around the battlefield on fast gliders and rush into attack instantly, even by Drukhari standards. Due to the special relationships in the segment, assassins are used to working together. They mainly work in pairs, less often in trios, but any assassin can replace another in a formed mini-team. Nevertheless, they all act according to the general vector that Zegris sets; the commander's failure threatens complete disarray among his subordinates, and in such cases Marae has to search for Zegris on the battlefield with one hand and calm the assassin's hive with the other. Fortunately, this doesn't happen too often :DD Assassins are often used to drive dangerous enemies for the archon, as well as beautiful battle recordings that can be shown off after the raid. Like Marae himself, Zegris and his subordinates work for an aesthetic picture.
Salassa is timid and doesn't like raids. It's ironic, since reavers often lead the rest of the army :DD This doesn't stop him from being an excellent racer — he skillfully slices through enemies with the blades of his jetbike, which compensates for his mediocre melee and ranged combat skills. Fun fact: the slits on bikes make a distinctive whistling sound. Every reaver tries to give their jetbike a unique sound :> Salassa tried to create something close to a snake's hiss. Useless fan fact: Salassa's jetbike is named Lulu :D
Leah's our witch, but also a...sniper :DD She also had a sector, and like her mother's Kabal, it specializes in battles in conjunction with the Razorwings. There are both short-range and long-range witches in the sector, but she currently prefers sniper weapons (or medium-range weapons, as long as she moves to a point where she can lie low). By collecting information from implants embedded in the Duchess's eyes, she builds a virtual map of the area and can shoot targets virtually blindly. Such shooting does not bring a feast of bloody violence, so Leah retaliates by participating in performances in the arena, or torturing prisoners in the prisons of the Marae Tower.
MadnessDemon: One of characters with me and my co-author has a hand Razorwing. Her name is the Duchess, and she was given to the girl named Leah (archoness' daughter) in her earliest childhood. She's been with her all her life, and this bird has been reassembled dozens of times by Haemonculus because it's an extremely valuable specimen. At least she's extremely smart. So, we can say that this bird is immortal. But she still looked funny as a baby bird!
Mad: The Dark Eldar trilogy mentions the frameworks that support the Ilmaea, the black suns of Commorragh; they are composed of steel webs, eternally spun by countless spider-like mechanisms. It's not entirely clear whether this is a figure of speech, as the sun is compared to a lantern, but it makes sense. Slave labor isn't enough to support millennia-old structures, and the suns, even scaled down by subrealms, are still enormous. We headcanon that spider-like mechanisms monitor not only the Ilmaea, but much of Commorragh. Billions of devices clean, wash, and repair this planet-sized city. They come in varying sizes and functions: some are tiny and designed to detect minor damage, while others, especially those used for cleaning, are noticeably large. Do they get stolen and dismantled for parts? :DD In Low Commorragh, most likely. That's why they live in chaos :DD
(MadnessDemon): Some pages of bestiary we work from time to time :>
Redesign of the canon razorwings for personal use (we have them in comic as a pets of kabal), because I can >c Made them closer to the earlier, eagle-like, official concept. I decided to draw the wings closer to bats. They are such small pterosaurs, they can rest their wing fingers on the ground if necessary :3
Shaderavens, birds native to Aelindrach! Their cawing is known to drive eldars insane, but that doesn't stop the Archons from keeping them in their retinue :D
Warp spiders, called White Guardians by the Eldar, are tiny, swift creatures that circulate within the Infinite Circuit on craftworlds and within the Webway itself. These aggressive little creatures run in swarms — a small group occupies a space the size of a fingernail — and act as an immune system, reacting to negative energies and consuming them. I headcanon that they also help repair parts of the intact Webway and protect it from external Warp influences. Thin, branching appendages help the spiderlings communicate with the Webway and identify problem areas.
I have an ur-ghul cameo for the haemonculus character, so I decided to make a slight redesign that I think works better. I changed the nasal slits to look more like… slits, and slightly reshaped the body parts :'>
Raptorhounds are mentioned in "The Ghost Warrior", where the exodites of Solomonesh-Asah led small raptors on golden leashes. It is written that they sense smells and thoughts better than the Eldar themselves. In the role of the raptors' master here is Peachael - my co-author, Murena, character who was an exodite before becoming an harlequin >3)
The lyrecat is a pet of the Aeldari Empire! Mentioned in the first chapter of Jain Zar. It seems the Drukhari have saber-toothed cats, so it may be lyrecats! The Eldar are such cat people, hehe >3 And the girl here is Osytanys, character of my co-author <3 Outfit belongs to Thirianna from Eldar Trilogy :D
(MadnessDemon) I've long wanted to paint what the Visarch might look like without his helmet. Yes, that hairstyle wouldn't be fit under a helmet, but I wanted it that way :D
