My new PC!

My new character for our Great Crusade campaign:

Magos Plasmius Stellaros, High Tech-Priest of the recon-destroyer "Pandora's Curse", Archdecon of the 12th Frequency Coil and Wearer of the Teslanian Spear of Pavonis Mons

I plan to give him 8000XP to start with in FFG Rogue Trader. Do you think that's enough to get his guy on paper?

Emperor’s tarot

I want to know if there is an actual set of the emperor’s Tarot cards or a list of the actual cards. I want to use them for a divination using psyker.

I want to play as a Techmarine in a Dark Heresy game; how should I do that?

I'm pretty new to RPGs and I want an advice. My first thought is to play as a separate from others one-man-party in a game, or to play an NPC or a semi-gamemaster of a sort.

For my M30 campaign I mades some NPCs from a Saturnyne Ordo to be encountered on mission during the Solar Reclamation.

  • Kwaal Hunak-dru, Captain of the Saturnine frigate "Indigo Radiance"

Rogue Trader RPG?

So after watching Warhammer 1987 by Warrior Tier (highly recommend it) and playing far too much Void War, i got inspired to run something similiar after finding some of the 1st edition books by sailing the warp with the Gellar field off.

But i been scratching my head on what to use.

I heard there was a fan made 40k supplement for the 1st edition of WFRP but never managed to find it (if anyone knows where to find it, it would be appreciated).

Got recommended Warpstar!

Found a off brand updated take of Rogue Trader called Renegade Scout

And i been considering using the rules of Rogue Trader to run a campaign.

Do you guys have any suggestions or opnions, interested to hear what you folks think.

Also.

Rest in Peace John Blanche you absolute legend.

Dark Heresy 1E – How do you challenge high-XP Acolytes without killing them?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently running Dark Heresy 1E. We've finished House of Dust and Ash, and I plan to run the full Haarlock's Legacy trilogy along with a few other adventures before that.

The group currently sits at around 6,500 XP.

My question is: How do you challenge individual Acolytes with appropriate enemies without simply killing them?

At the moment, a Chaos Space Marine is still off the table (though I plan to use some later during Book 3 on Mara).

The party

🔮 Telepath Psyker

Uses Psychic Shriek constantly.

How would you handle that?

- High Willpower opponents?

- Keep enemies outside 10m?

- Psyker duels?

- Something else?

⚔️ Ecclesiarchy combat monster

- Armour 6

- Tons of rerolls

- Very hard to put down

🤖 Lathe Worlds Skitarii

- Venator swords

- 3 attacks

- Armour 8

⚙️ Tech-Priest

- Shield generator

- Very resilient

🪖 Guardsman

- Decent in melee

- Decent at range

- Lots of armour

My first thought was simply using more armour penetration and bolters, but I can't realistically give every hive ganger a boltgun.

Any other ideas?

The two tech characters are effectively immune to most Fear and many psychic tricks because of their machine traits, which makes encounter design even trickier.

Has anyone run into a similar situation and found good solutions?

Best regards,

Currently travelling from Solomon to the Lathe Worlds,

Frosty

New to 40k

Hi everyone, if this breaks any rule sorry but I’m new the the 40k setting and was hoping for some direction on which system would be good to start with. I run VTT on foundry and DM DND5E but have ran and played a few other non dnd systems. My favorite species are the ORKS and also love the salamanders from the imperium if that helps at all.

Hello! Need some help deciding!

So I'm about to run a 40k Rogue trader game for my friends, and I'm stuck on what to pick as a "main" enemy and plot line. I've got two I'm picking between, both are heretics! The first goes fully against lore lol.

A new god being born that the team will be helping to stop, the child of slanessh and khorne (via slanessh somehow enticing khorne and them hate f*cking) which I am simply calling them "the red giant".

The second is a group of non chaos heretics who are sick and tired of the imperium and want to replace them, haven't thought much else on it but it is enticing

I would like some help on deciding, and just if anyone wants to know, or if it will help at all, we got an rogue trader, a navigator, a explorator, a void-master NPC which I will control, and....an ork

Do the TTRPGs get much play in shops?

Is it feasible to find a group at a game shop to hop in with? I'm interested in trying one, and that's probably the most realistic way I could since I don't have my own group that'd be down.

Adjusting Stable Abhumans based on Home-world/Origin?

What changes would you make to the base abhuman strains stats to show influence from different home-worlds?

For example Only War, Shield of Humanity says "Adeptus Administratum classifies seven distinct types of Ogryn"

So maybe an Ogryn from a Highborn house has better Fellowship to reflect being the assigned companion/bodyguard of a noble scion?

In exchange for less Toughness from living as essentially a pampered pet.

(Now I'm imagining Ogryn being gene modified by nobles to fit social trends, like mini Ogryn breed that's about 7ft tall or 2-2.2m)

Any stats for the Beltchers Gland spit?

So I'm running around with no helm as every Astartes should do, and wondering if anyone has any damage/weapon stats for the acid spot from the aforementioned gland?

Take a ride like a celebrity! The Augean RT-56

Travel with true style in caterpillar used by the famous Ilya Ravallion on Ullanor during the great Crusade.

You can find the whole article and the maps here

[MY version of the Augean is based on the Hägglunds Bv 206, a Swedish-designed articulated, tracked amphibious vehicle. It's so adorable!]
