My 1st Tacoma

Finally decided to post a picture

SR5 upgrade and cold weather packages

Coming from an F150 I really like the car like ride. But the rear was a little too bouncy over the terrible dirt roads I drive on. I replaced the rear shocks with Eibach ProTruck Sport mono tube shocks. I was afraid Blisteins would be too stiff. I’m not driving the Baja 1000. I think I made the right call. Stiffer but not too stiff.

I couldn’t take the OEM tires. So those got replaced too.

Cooper Discoverer Road and Trail. 265/65/17. They are the exact same height as the OEM but wider. I didn’t want it any higher than it already is. These tires tested very well by Tire Rack recently and I see why. Outstanding tires. Similar to the Continental Terrain Contact A/T I had on my F 150.

Added 20% ceramic tint to the front windows. Nothing on the windshield.

Donger adapter for the Viofo dash cam connected to the auto dimming rear view mirror and made that the easiest dash cam install I’ve ever done. Very clean.

It came with factory bed liner and I’m debating a tonneau cover. So far I haven’t needed it.

Overall I’m super happy.

Lasfit Liners Installed

Installed the Lasfit floor liners this week in my Tacoma and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. Coverage is way better than the generic liners I was using before, especially around the door sills where the liner extends over the door plates.
One reason 1 upgraded was because I previously had salsa spill in the rear floorboard with my old liners. Liquid ended up getting past the edge of the liner, soaked into the carpet next to it, and even seeped between the carpet and door trim. Huge pain to clean up. The added side coverage on these should help prevent that from happening again.
Something to consider if you're in the market for some.
Last picture compares generic liners I bought on Amazon and my new Lastit liners.

Just a few more inches 😂

Anyone else notice how the carpet only goes to the pedals on a gem 4? I've owned 20 truck/cars and have never seen anything like this fi what's up firewall?...

Monongahela trip

We had a great weekend driving around and through the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia this weekend. Part of the Canaan Loop was closed but we still did most of it as well as canyon ridge road (or something like that) that had a couple of big washouts and my TRDPro was a beast. It handled everything we threw at it without any hesitation. What an awesome weekend! And I love my Tacoma even more now.

I’ve joined the club

2026 Trailhunter Long Bed

Waited about 2 months for her, got her cheaper than used 2024s

Took her on a drive about 1:30hrs, 60% city and 40% backroads. Got about 24 mpg, very happy about that

Predator steps

Just got the predator steps and tried to install them today but one of the nuts broke off while trying to screw in the bolt. Is that repairable or not?

Gun storage

I was watching some YouTube with dinner (as a 21 yo with no roommates does) and came across a video of a guy who I’ll assume on a 3rd gen taco built a custom gun rack behind the rear seats, he had to remove the black plastic that’s there already but I wondering if anyone’s done something similar on the 4th gen’s and if so where they based theirs off of. It like the look and would love to add it to mine

Should I buy this?

Found a dealership offering a 2026 SR5 4x4 underground with the cold weather package with 9 mi on the odometer for $39,915. Sticker is $46,035.

They're claiming that they moved a new car to the used inventory to get a new allocation.

How do I fit 37s on my 4th gen Tacoma (24,25,26) I figured it out.

2 inch lift is a minimum (I used Bilstein 5100s on 4th clip)

Bumper cut (Viper cut works too you just need to clear that first front area.)

Spacers or aggressive offset wheels (This is to clear the sway bar from rubbing, I have 1.5inch KSP spacers, stock Tundra rims)

Front wheel well Crash Bracket delete (3 simple bolts and it comes right off)

Hammer in the back of the front fender (Shown in my pictures, you WILL rub if you don’t hammer this portion in)

After all of that, you’ll need a tune to not feel like a sloth, and probably to support the transmission from killing itself. I recommend OTT tuning (If in SoCal, Quoc is great 🙂 )

Full lock no rubbing. I will keep you all posted on transmission temps to see if they rise past normal, along with offroad use.

I plan on off-roading within the next 3 weeks, so once I go and test out the articulation, I will report back.

I will be on a 3.5 inch lift eventually, but for now, this works and it looks phenomenal.

I might be the only one but this corner annoys me.

I rest my leg right in this gap and that corner digs into my leg on long drives. Has anyone seen a clean solution for this? Like a 3D printed cushion.

35’s on stock TRD off-road ✅

They fit with zero drama. I did have to remove the front mud flaps, they rubbed a little, but otherwise, zero issues.

I went with Falken wildpeak 35x11.5r17

Loving them. Will flex it out this weekend when I’m off work.

TRD off-road true front level.

I just put 35’s on this thing, and the urge to level it is killing me. I don’t want to lift it fully. I see a 1.5” from wescott, there’s a 2” from another company (all spring perch lifts, not top mount spacer lift).

I’m conflicted because 1.5” looks like it’ll make a huge difference but not truly level. 2” may be perfect.

I ask because the wescott lift kit does 2.5” front and .75” rear. That would be a 1.75” front overall and it looks really even on the trucks I see.

Wanted to show what my pops 2024’ SR 6Speed manual work truck looks vs my cousins 24’ TRD off-Rd. Pops and me use the SR for work on the farm.

Towing longevity

I just purchased a 26 trd sport AT and plan to tow a small pop up camper GVWR 2900. I will likely be towing it 5-10x/yr with the longest route being down to Monterey from Seattle! I guess I have a few questions,

  1. Trailer brake, after market or go to Toyota oem?
  2. Distribution hitch, what do y’all recommend/use even if this is under the weight for it I think it will help?
  3. Anything I need to be aware of maintenance wise? Oil? Coolant? Breaks?
3.5. Thoughts on longevity of truck given this?
  4. Anything else you recommend

So mad!😡

Idiot in a Jeep Gladiator sideswiped my brand new Tacoma and tried to PIT maneuver me off the road. High as a kite. Sitting at ER right now. Damage of my 26’ OR Mudbath. Proof of him the dumbass fleeing.

Installed the OEM tonneau cover

So I had a soft folding tonneau cover on my truck. The kuiperauto soft quad folding tonneau cover. It works fine but I did not like having to go side to side to unlatch each piece to fold up.
I was looking at the backflip MX4 but that one was more expensive than the OEM so I decided to go with the OEM tonneau cover.
Install was pretty simple. I love how flush it sits and how easy it is to open. Also having full bed access is amazing compared to some of the other covers
