There Goes the Groom
I admit it was a nice episode, but i've been waiting for that wedding ever since Maddie said to Buck in ''Dosed'' "he's cute" in fact i would have preferred a traditional wedding rather than an impromtu one in the hospital, and Jennifer Love Hewitt in that wedding dress was beautiful as an angel.
New Viewer (Hen + Chim)
I know I’m super late to the party but I’m finally getting around to watching 911.
Currently on S2 E9 (Hen’s origin story)
Seeing how Chim had her back from DAY ONE is so heartwarming.
Best way to describe the differences between the three 9-1-1 series
So while watching 9-1-1 and its spin-off series Lone Star and Nashville, I naturally felt all three series were unique and different in their own ways despite following the same overall formula and structure. Lone Star for example puts more emphasis and attention on the diversity of its main cast while Nashville is written to be more of a family drama/soap-opera. However, other than that, I’m having difficulty putting into the words how the three series are unique from each other.
So between the three series, how would you describe what makes each of them unique in their own way?
OMG….I am devastated 😱😱😢😢
I have been playing catch up over the past few months took a break for Love Island (IYKYK) and come back for Bobby to die!!!!! WHAT WHY BOBBY???!!! He was the voice of reason!!! Talking about the hardest death scene to watch that’s up there with Doc McDreamy dying!!! Damn!!! That episode should have came with a warning!!
thinking about eva's name
i looked her name up today because i was wondering if it was actually spelt how it sounded, and i realized her name means life, giver of life, or living one. i find it so fascinating how they chose to name dennys birth mother, someone who not only gave *him* life, but subsequently gave hen + karen life (so to say), a name with that meaning. it derives from eve like from the bible. i wonder if this was intentional but knowing the writers, i think i can answer that for myself.
i was wondering if anyone here who had an interest in the meaning of names or just knows a bit would like to share anything theyve noticed!
what is the funniest scene for you
okayyy, i'm rewatching 911 and i made it back to s9 already. i'm at the episode where harry walks in on may and ravi and harry's got like, pent up stress about it. i just want you all to know, the FUNNIEST thing ever - gets me out of the funk, i laugh everytime. it is when harry made a side comment at ravi and they're fighting in the firehouse and chimney walks up to intervene and when harry tells chimney that ravi and may got intimate, chimney said something like "as you were" turned around immediately and walked away while making a face, and this is by the far the funniest scene to me.
i would love to hear the funniest scenes you all have from 911 that just has you giggling out loud.
Hen is insane for inviting Athena to her space venture
Every journey that woman has been on has gone disastrously. The last place I’d want to be in with Athena is a ROCKET! I haven’t even watched the next episode but as soon as I saw it cut to Athena on the rocket I was like welp, that rocket is running out of fuel, crashing, hitting space debris, or losing a vital part of the ship. I’m calling it right now. They’re not all leaving that ship unharmed. Her best bet would’ve been to invite either Buck or Eddie. They both have that dumb himbo luck😅
What movies have inspired particular plotlines in 9-1-1?
Hi! I'm trying to just compile a list of movies (and maybe even other shows) that have inspired particular plotlines (or references) in "9-1-1" . This question was inspired by this article and I was wondering if there are more that aren't listed? Because I'm sure there was more, especially on the latest season. I tried to look for other threads but I couldn't find anything much.
Just for easier access, I'll list here what the article has already mentioned:
- “The Poseidon Adventure” in “Capsized” (7x3)
- “The Hangover” in “There Goes the Groom” (7x6)
- “Ocean’s Eleven” in “Ocean’s 9-1-1” (2x15)
- “Rear Window” in “There Goes the Neighborhood” (4x7)
- “The Birds” in “Monsters” (3x6)
- “Jurassic Park” in “Desperate Times” (5x2)
- “It’s a Wonderful Life” in “In Another Life” (6x11)
- “Speed” in “Outside Looking In” (5x11)
- “Die Hard” in “Trapped” (1x9) and “Merry Ex-Mas“ (2x10)
- “Say Anything” in “Buck, Actually” (2x8)
- “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three” in “The Taking of Dispatch 9-1-1” (3x14)
- “Backdraft” in “What’s Your Fantasy?” (6x8)
- “9 to 5” in “What’s Your Fantasy?” (6x8)
- “Conan the Barbarian” in the pilot (1x1)
- “Rambo” movies in the pilot (1x1)
Movie references that I've seen are mentioned on other threads/sources:
- "Vertigo" in "Ashes, Ashes" (7x9)
- "Misery" in "Mother's Boy" (9x13)
- "Jaws" in New Beginnings" (2x11)
- "Double Indemnity" in "Ghost Stories" (5x7)
- "Strange Days" in "Dosed" (2x6)
- "Love, Actually" in "Buck, Actually" (2x8)
I'm going to make a list on Letterboxd with all of these, if anyone's going to be interested!
Buck’s new story
I knew, KNEW, they would kill off the parents so Buck would become a father. How do you guys feel about this?
I personally wasn’t a fan.
9-1-1 has become my favorite US TV show
On July 29, my best friend recommended 9-1-1. Today, August 16, I finished all eight seasons and no regrets!
Heads up: I’m in France, so no S9 spoilers please! Just had to jump on here and share my thoughts.
My friend convinced me to watch all episodes, and she was so right. I fell for the entire cast, was glued to the screen during the big disasters (>!and cracked up at the meteorite call!<), and loved the multi-episode pacing and soundtrack. Perfect character growth all around!
S2/S3 are peak 9-1-1, and >!Buck’s coma dream!< is top-tier. Buck had the best arc, he went from my least favorite in the pilot to the character I identify with most. Loved Bobby, Athena, Buck, Josh, and Michael (and how the show tackles loneliness), but Maddie was hands down my least favorite.
>!Bobby's S8 fate devastated me. In a show where Maddie survives a slashed throat, losing Cap just feels wrong.!<
All in all, 9-1-1 is incredible (binge-watching it definitely helped!). My biggest fear now is that >!losing Cap!< will hit the show too hard, similar to how Criminal Minds lost its magic when >!lead actors left!<. Time will tell!
Thanks for reading, and curious to hear your thoughts!

Which Marvel character do yall think Buck/Oliver looks like?
I did picture Oliver/Buck as a Leopold Fitz (Agents of Shield) but I am wondering what other characters would yall fancast him or picture him as?
I was also thinking another could be Gambit? But with the accent I wasn’t sure 😂
DO NOT REQUEST OR POST SOURCES/SUGGESTIONS FOR ILLEGAL SITES. This thread is for official sources only.
Post updates regarding the show's release schedule in your country. If you are looking for information about release schedules in your country, review the answers in the thread. It is important to include the country you're from when asking any of your questions. If your question is not answered, then you may post an individual Where/when/how post.
A few tips:
- In the US and for viewers near the US/Canadian and US/Mexican borders, you can use a TV Antenna for a relatively cheap (and one-time cost) to watch 9-1-1 live on TV if you do not have Cable/Satellite to watch ABC.
- Hulu (for US) streams it the next day at 3am Eastern, also streamable on Disney+ (US) but only with both subscriptions.
- Hulu Live subscribers (US) can watch it live on Hulu if they have the Hulu Live TV package.
- Canada's Global TV airs live and streams the newest episode for free for a week (viewable by using a VPN set to Canada)
- Disney+ users can try using a VPN set to a non-US country (see the second tip) that is streaming the current season.
- Episodes are available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV in select regions.
- It bears repeating that you must include your country when asking any questions.
Possible emergencies and incidents based on real-life events that you would like to see in future episodes
As many are probably already aware, but many of the emergencies and incidents that occur in the show are based on things that have occurred in real-life. Now the relative of a friend of mine was a police officer and dealt with some cases that are extremely crazy or dramatic. Personally, I think it would be awesome to see them be adapted someway into this show.
I mean there was one case where a guy accidentally shot someone with a real gun during a mock shooting that was part of a Freemason initiation ceremony. I mean have the victim survive and I can see this being an entertaining emergency the 118 responds to.
And another case was the infamous murder of multi-millionaire Ted Ammon, a nationwide-attention case that involved greed, revenge, adultery, and other stuff one would see in a soap-opera. I think elements of this case would work well in an Athena-based plot.
As for other emergencies and incidents based real-life events that would entertaining would a giant flood of molasses or beer. Or perhaps a mining accident that traps a bunch of miners or a bridge collapse?
Any thoughts or other suggestions?
