I'm honestly a little disappointed with this season... Plus what I personally would like to see next season. Spoilers (duh)

So this was not my favorite season.

Let's not talk about Bobby he sadly isn't with us now so I want all comments about how him not being here made it worse. We all miss him dearly but let's please just keep him out of this.

This season was honestly personally to me just one of the worst season. Everything was WAY to rushed I mean we spend what 1-3 (barely 3) episodes on storylines that could have 100% been stretched to really have an impact on the show.

>!Hen and Buck being the 2 storylines (imo) that could have been stretched. !<

>!I would have liked to seen Hen slowly come back from her illness. I also just can't get over her calling Chimney a bad captain because he was the captain and HAD to put not only his team first but the people first. She was so LUCKY she did not kill her and that little girl. Then we just basically skipped over that. I wanted to see them talk and her say I'm sorry I called you a bad captain. I was mad and I know what you did was right. I would have liked to have seen it play out more.!<

>!Then Buck with the drugs and Theo.!<

>!Buck was an addict for barely 2 episodes. I think we should have seen that play out and not seen Theo until the last episode ending on a cliff hanger. I want to see him be a father I do I think he will make a good father but I think/know it was WAY to rushed. I think if anything we should have watched as he debated on what to do with Theo instead of not watching him have this infamous Buck struggle with himself about what to do.!<

>!I also think we should have explored more of the fire department investagation on whether or not Chimney was a good captain or not. It's a good storyline that could have also been stretched as well as they brought in a different captain just for a couple episodes or something. We all know he's a good captain but from an outside perspective you can't deny that it looks like he wasn't a good captain. I think we should have seen more into it personally.!<

I really would like them to slow way down next season and really dive into the storylines more.

Season 10 we watch Buck really struggle with being a new dad.

Maybe we seen Hen struggle with her health again as I feel like that was too easy (from a viewers point) maybe some PTSD.

I would like to see Harry deal with a hard rescue that impacts how he does.

Eddie maybe finally getting to the root of why he can't stay in a relationship. No I'm not talking about Buddie we are NOT talking about that and it being the reason. Until it's confirmed in the show it's not going to happen not this late in the season. come on...

Chimney I would like to see him maybe also struggle with him being a captain something that really impacts him. Maybe someone does almost die because of him. Storyline it would be great but NO ONE DIES.

I would like to see May more and watch a little bit as she struggles being what a nurse? Whatever it is she's doing. Cause there's different types we don't actually know do we?

Maddie I would like to see Sue come back but keep her on maybe on as an assistant to help so she's not overwhelmed.

Harry like I mentioned watch as he deals with a really hard rescue something that impacts him for a couple episodes.

Athena deal with some tough cases, I don't know basically what she does now.

Ravi I want to learn more about aside from him dating May because that's really all that happened with him. I would like to see a past show up. Whether it's his parents or maybe we find out he was married in the past and it comes to bite him.

I would like to see new love inserts for Buck and Eddie, I would like it see it actually stick. It's been 9 season can we just finally say boom here you go?

911 people if you are reading these. SLOW TF DOWN. We do not need 10 good storylines in 20 episodes that are wrapped up in 2 episodes. A few good storylines with some minor ones are perfect. Slow down my god.

season 7 spoiler below

I love Eddie a lot but the way he sometimes goes about relationships specifically is very strange to me. I honestly get that he’s not subconsciously ready for something new because he hasn’t healed properly and grief shows up in mysterious ways but… playing with a good woman who was ready to move in with you, loves you and your child dearly just to cheat on her and pretend she doesn’t exist for someone who looks like your late partner makes me so uncomfortable to watch. I’ve yet to finish the last episode of season 7 before going to season 8 but I truly hope he gets some sort of character development when it comes to his love life.

UPDATE: I just finished the second last episode of season 7 and I’m nearly crying at what eddie’s saying ‘to shannon’ ohmydays but the “mom” from christopher had me gasped like damnnn talk about bad timing

Are there any cutscenes you have to skip because they're hard to watch?

I have hemophobia (fear of blood), and I’ve been using TV shows as a form of exposure therapy. There are scenes where I have to look away because it gets too bloody, but usually I’ve never had to outright skip scenes entirely.

Recently though, this show has had a couple scenes I literally cannot handle. It feels like the gore has gotten more intense lately (am I imagining it?). The bite scene with Abigail made me so nauseous the first time I watched it that I almost threw up, and I just cannot watch it.

Then the (season 9 spoiler) >!recent cardiac massage scene was also way too much for me.!< I was physically writhing in pain watching it and had to look away the entire time. Even thinking about that scene now makes me writhe in pain again, I can't even imagine it.

Does anyone else have scenes that are just too much for them to watch? I know my phobia makes it harder for me, but I was curious if anyone else has scenes they can’t sit through.

any tips for my first rescueverse?

Hi guys, im going to rescueverse austin. I have a day pass. I also have a photo op with oliver. I'm super nervous and haven't been to any convention before. How does the photo op go? Am i able to ask for a hug in the photo? I also saw people giving out friendship bracelets to the cast, would i have time/be able to do that during the photo op or should I try to buy a selfie pass for more time? And does the whole cast come out for the q&a panel or just a few at a time? Sorry if this is a lot haha but any tips or insight would help!! When photo ops/ q&as aren't happening, do we just explore vendors and stuff?

Thank you ^^

Fanfic Recommendations

Hey! I was wondering, would anybody happen to know about any fanfics where after Chris gets mad at Eddie about the whole Kim situation, instead of calling his grandparents and going to El Paso, he decides to move in with Buck? Also would anyone know if any of these fics have Buck and Eddie together as a couple?

Buck's postcards

Is there any chance anyone here has screenshots/images of the postcards Buck sent to Maddie during their trip? More specifically, if there are any images of the written part. That would help me a lot!!!

Season 9 hot take/season 10 spec

My not-so-hot take: that finale was kind of meh, and it’s obvious some things got cut for time. Which sucks, especially with Buck and Theo. I actually like the idea of it, but there needed to be more explanation for how they got there emotionally and legally, given Buck has gone through it recently. Hopefully S10 fills in some of those gaps.

Now for the actual hot take:

I don’t think Eddie getting stabbed was pointless. And honestly? Buck not immediately running to him when the elevator opened actually made sense to me.

I think Eddie’s stabbing is part of a much larger pattern in his story: a growing crisis of faith.

Eddie has always been someone who clings tightly to faith, hope, duty, and “chain of command,” even beneath all the stoicism and skepticism. But over and over again, whenever Eddie tries to do the “right” thing, it’s immediately followed by tragedy. At a certain point, that starts to feel less like coincidence and more like something that fundamentally shakes your belief that doing good actually matters.

We’ve seen this pattern repeatedly:

- Shannon comes back and Eddie thinks he might get a second chance at a family, only for her to ask for a divorce, reveal she isn’t pregnant, and then die.

- Eddie tries to help his friend out of his depression by giving him Chris for the day. Then Christopher and Buck survive the tsunami, then the lawsuit after isolates them from each other.

- Eddie helps protect that kid during the sniper arc and gets shot.

- Eddie tries to take care of his mental health, then he realizes he never actually saved anyone in the desert.

- He starts rebuilding things with Christopher and then loses Bobby.

- Eddie reconnects with Abuela and his faith, then loses her too.

- He helps Abigail escape abuse done “in the name of God”, only for her parents to be released.

- He reconnects with Buck during the Nashville trip and it ends in a fight, a crash, and Buck getting kidnapped.

- He tries to help Buck afterward, but misses Buck spiraling into opioid dependency.

- He rescues trafficking victims, only for ICE to take them anyway, leading to Athena getting shot.

- Theo loses his parents in a way that mirrors Shannon, leaving Buck and Eddie caught in another painful cycle of grief and responsibility.

- Eddie literally prays and reaches toward a higher power again after hearing she survived, and then immediately gets stabbed.

The point isn’t that Eddie is being “punished.” It’s that his goodness is constantly juxtaposed with suffering. Every time he tries to trust the system, trust God, trust duty, trust the rules... things still fall apart. And Eddie is stubborn enough that it’s taken YEARS for those cracks to show, but I think we’re finally seeing them stack too high to ignore.

And I think Buck’s reaction ties into that contrast really well.

Old Buck would’ve immediately rushed in emotionally, consequences be damned. But Buck has changed a lot. He’s calmer now, more restrained, more willing to let other people take control when they’re better equipped. Him not charging into the elevator doesn’t read to me like indifference, it reads like growth. He trusts the people around him to handle the emergency instead of acting purely on instinct.

Which is why I think there’s potential for a really interesting reversal next season if the writers commit to it:

Buck becoming more grounded, measured, and willing to follow chain of command… while Eddie starts losing faith in the very systems and beliefs he’s spent years relying on. Because from Eddie’s perspective, following the rules and doing everything “right” has never actually protected the people he loves.

I think we are sort of already starting to see Eddie flip and be the more sort of "impulsive" one with him jumping off the bridge, him breaking out of the hospital to save Buck, and in the immigrant story line, Eddie was the one leading the crew to breaking into the building. This flip could be so interesting, because they still balance each other out in many ways, but their roles are switched.

So are we going to talk about...

Buck adopting a kid? In the same season he became an addict and almost lost his job for the 100th time?

Just started watching the show and love it. Are the ratings still strong? Bc i dont want this show to end anytime soon lol

No spoilers beyond season 3 episode 13.

I have a confession to make. I actually didnt care for the show until like halfway into season 2. I liked a couple episodes (like the 3 part events) but i wasnt really caring about the show. But now i really do and i dont want it to end. I LOVE the big giant 3 part events at the beginning of each season. It gives me that itch for more high stakes stories while they can go back to normal afterwards. So i get the best of both worlds. Buck is my favorite character. I hope he and Eddie get together (i know about bucks bisexual storyline coming later on)

Why does Howard call his "adoptive parents" mr. and mrs. Lee?

I did a search for this, but it seems no one has asked this question. Yet every time I re-watch the show, it bothers me 😂

These are people that raised him after his mother died, he considered Kevin his brother, even Albert calls her Anne. But Howard keeps calling them mr. and mrs. Lee, rather than by their first names.

I know in Asia there's a big culture of respect for your elders, so I always assumed that was the reason. But then again, Albert calls them by their first name. Howard called Anne grandma when he handed baby Ji to her. And now Ji also calls her grandma Lee. I wouldn't expect Howie to call them mom and dad, but at least by their first names.

Does anyone know if this is a typical cultural thing? Or is this just a Howie thing?

Searching for a fanfic!

Hi all,

I don't know if this exists but if it doesn't can someone please write it because I need to read it!

Instead of Maddie helping out Eddie at the auction, she actually bids on Eddie and Buck and sets them up on a date.

I'm so annoyed because I thought that was where it was heading but sadly it didn't so I need to read the ending to that concept to satisfy the craving in my head!

season 2 timeline

I’m watching season 2 of 911 right now, and I noticed that in the last episode they talk about how the Guillermo’s restaurant arson was 3 years ago, but did it not happen just a few episodes before that?
