Buck and Eddies Friendship in 911

This may be a unpopular opinion but i dont think Eddies as good a friend to Buck as buck is to eddie.

Dont get me wrong I love their friendship, they show up for each other and overall are a good support system for each other but one thing ive notices is that when Buck and Eddie are both going through a difficult transition or event in life Buck can almost always be counted on to be there to support Eddie while when Buck is having a hard time he either comes second to Christopher and has his feelings ignored because thats Eddies kid or Eddie spits out the classic line that "Everything is always about Buck" when Buck hasnt been that self centered and egotistical since he started therapy in the earlier seasons (Around season 2 or 3).

Im right around S8 but in all honesty i cant really remember any time Eddie has been there in a meaningful way for Buck besides giving him reality checks that make Buck reflect on himself in ways that should have been left till after he supported and emotionally validated Bucks side of the situation.

Am i bias? Please comment situations in which Eddie has shown up for Buck during hard times in his life.

As far as for Buck the list is endless:

-taking care of Christopher in the earlier seasons

- integrating into Chrstophers life to help Eddie

-Coming by at the drop of a hat when Eddie has a fight or cannot console Christopher alone

-Babysitting Christopher whenever Eddie asks

-Letting Christopher stay at his house when Eddie needed (back in S4or 5 i believe)

-Showing up randomly to talk about life when they need

-being honest to eddie about how it was wrong when he was with sharons lookalike while still remaining sympathetic to his feelings having lost sharon

-helping Eddie pack up and move to El Paso

-Renting Eddies place off of him when he moved to El Paso

That is just in the newer seasons and a quick summery i remember off the top of my head but the list goes on and on.

As for Eddie...besides the bare minimum of facetiming and Buck calling him for advise nothing comes to mind T.T

I honestly remeber more times Eddie has reprimanded and criticized Buck(most of which wasnt even one sidedly Bucks fault but where both sides had some validity) when Buck was already going through a hard time emotionally.

Let me know what you guys think i just got through the though episode in S8 after (you know what) and Eddie said "Its always about you Buck" and "You didnt even ask me what it was like" and procceeds to get in Bucks face and i just... I had to pause because im so mad at Eddie for not being a better friend when buck shows up for everyone in his life in such meaningful ways and they only seem to support him when he makes the effort to show up at their houses(seemingly unnanounced).

Buck is my baby and maybe im biases but i feel like no one shows up for buck the way he shows up for others and its making me sad 😢

His Dark Materials/ 9-1-1 headcanons?

When I was reading a lot of SVU fanfiction, the only fantasy AUs I actually enjoyed were HDM, and the amazing character work a couple of writers did on who had what animal as a daemon and why. So I got to thinking: what would the 118's daemons be? Here are my ideas:

Bobby- either a Beagle or a Golden Retriever.

Chimney: a raccoon, don't ask me why, I just feel it in my soul

Hen: an owl or otter

Eddie: a hawk, cat, or german sheppard

Buck: a squirrel or swallow

Athena: a serval, ocelot or panther. Big cat energy.

Maddie: hedgehog

Give me yours, I'm super curious!

Timeline confusion

Rewatching 7x09 Ashes, Ashes.

Tommy tells Gerrard he transferred out to Harbor station "5 years ago." Later, Bobby tells Buck, "you're not the same impulsive hothead who walked in here 7 years ago."

So that would imply that Buck and Tommy would have crossed over for 2 years, because the implication is that Tommy didn't go anywhere other than Harbor when he left. But yet, we also are led to believe in the beginning of the season that Buck and Tommy didn't meet until that night in the helicopter. And flashbacks show that Tommy and Chimney worked the same shifts, and with Bobby, so arguably Buck would've ended up interacting with Tommy, if not working with him.

Is it just me, or does that not add up?

ETA: I stand corrected. Tommy was at the 217 between 118 and Harbor. Thank you for helping clear that up!

Also, I love the comments about Oliver saying not to pay too close attention to it lol.

Lost Bucky/Eddie fic

I don't remember where I read it as I was skipping through a few sites at the time.

Points I remember:

• Chimney was bugging Bucky about the numbers he kept getting as he kept throwing them away - pretty sure this is because he is already engaged to Eddie as Bucky told him but Chimney didn't believe him.

• Bucky has complained to HR

• Eddie and Chris comes to the 118 and meets everyone for the first time - I believe there is talk of cupcakes.

• There is a call out to rescue a man on the side of a cliff. Bucky goes down on the ropes, but they start jerking around and slams him into the rocks a couple times. Turns out Chimney grabbed the controls for them and caused it. Bobby and crew not happy and Chimney ordered to the truck

• I think Bobby calls in an ambulance for Bucky and it ends around there or at least that's as far as I got.

Thanks for any help!

Edit: Never mind, I found it!

Here's the link if anyone wants to look at it. Warning: it is unfinished, only 5 chapters and a crossover with Stargate. So proceed at your own risk.

Claudette Collins

I’m rewatching 9-1-1 right now and just made it to Claudette’s introduction. I would like to know anyone’s opinion on her and why? Because personally I do not like her based on how she acts towards others, the way she treats May specifically like she is beneath her. I know she is probably just trying to be honest but it just comes across as rude and I do not blame May for believing that Claudette has it in for her because that is how I would have interpreted it as well.

911 vs. 911:lonestar

I just finished rewatching 911 and a

I am looking for a show just like it and I found 911:lonestar and it pissed me off so bad because the show is supposed to be about saving lives but the characters don't have any sense of emergency like wtf? someone is having an actual emergency and the paramedics are out there chit-chatting and walking slowly bruh. It totally pissed me off I will rewatch 911 again.

I love this show, and I’m super excited for Buck’s arc next season.

I’ve seen on here that many people don’t like the way Buck’s story was handled last season, but I personally loved it. It’s also very clear to me that the Theo story in the last two episodes was literally just a setup for Buck’s storyline next season. It wasn’t meant to be satisfying yet bc the arc hasn’t started. He’s not even adopting him yet; he’s just fostering.

I’m so excited to see what Buck is like as a parent. How it changes his life and the way he interacts with people. How him and Eddie bond over being single dads, how everybody else supports him and helps him out. I love this show so much and the characters. Buck and Eddie need to be endgame, PLEASE.

Custody Battle Outcome

So I’ve had a thought for a while. If Eddie and Shannon had gotten a divorce around or before S2 E7 (after Eddie moved to LA) before Shannon had seen Christopher again, who do you think would’ve gotten custody? Since they have a child, as part of their divorce, they would need a custody agreement. Now, as we saw, Eddie wasn’t really too keen on letting Shannon back into Christopher‘s life so I have a feeling he kind of would’ve fought for full custody with no visitation. Although I think Shannon would’ve gone for joint custody. But if it had to be, Christopher had to live full-time with one or the other, I have a feeling it would’ve been Eddie. Now before I explain, I will say I am not a huge Shannon fan. I don’t hate her just don’t care for her now I like Eddie, but he’s not my favorite character.

But I have a feeling it would have been Eddie to win for custody mainly because of the abandonment issue. Well, yes, Eddie himself did admit to Buck that he left first, the courts are not gonna count deployment as abandonment, especially because he kept in regular contact with his family when he could. Shannon though left in the middle of the night and had no communication between her and Christopher. Now technically Eddie could get a divorce on sites of abandonment instead of just being unhappy, but for Christopher, I think it would be grounds for the judge to say that she would need supervised visits before a court would agree to joint custody. And well, yes, Eddie did have a means of communication which is how she ended up at his house to deal with the whole school issue. A father should not need to call a mother to talk to her child and a judge is going to see that. And well, yeah, she could argue that she was caring for her ailing mother like Eddie said she did not come back after her mother‘s passing so that could be used that something negative against her in court.

Plus also environment, Eddie is a firefighter, which is technically a government worker, who has meaningful connections with his team and his community plus he has actual family living in LA as well as home healthcare for Christopher plus insurance. A judge is also gonna see the fact that Eddie is trying to put him in a private school to get him better education, as well as seeing that Eddie is taking him to physical therapy keeping up with Christopher‘s medical needs and he also has a house big enough for him and Christopher. Shannon, however, does not have the same environment. From what we seen the only family she has is her mother who has passed away, and since we do not know what she does for a living, we cannot guarantee that she could provide the same sort of support for Christopher’s medical needs or school. Plus she did not even know that Chris and Eddie were in LA, so assuming the fact that she expected to be living alone, she would only have some sort of one bedroom apartment. And one thing I do wanna mention is the fact that a lot of people have gone online saying that she had a very high chance of having postpartum depression and while I can completely agree on that she certainly could’ve, from what I have seen postpartum depression can last to up to three years. Chris was around five when she left and even if she did have postpartum depression at that time, I feel like a judge would need an actual diagnosis from a doctor saying that she had postpartum depression in order to excuse or least understand the abandonment.

So with all of this, I kind of have the feeling that a judge would award Eddie full custody, and then give Shannon supervise visits with the intention of working her way up from supervised visits to unsupervised visits, and then perhaps further down the line, joint custody. If you think I’m wrong, or if you have any positive or negative points on either Shannon or Eddie or both, I’m open to hear them because I wanna see other point of views that I might not have thought of. Also sorry that this is so long. I just had so many points that I wanted to cover.

alternate ending to season 8 episode 15 "lab rats"

definitely no disagreements on how bobby's death was for so-called "realism" in general to this day (especially when he showed no other symptoms like chimney did till the very end), though if he didn't die in S8E15, what would've been some other possibilities for how they could move him down from the main cast to supporting cast?

one of my personal ideas (not sure how "realistic" this would be either since i don't have any knowledge and/or know anyone who is a firefighter otherwise), would've been to follow in a similar suit as with the rookie S7E16 "the return" in The Rookie. NOT that seth and bobby are nowhere near similarly deserving of losing a limb and/or their leg, but that could've worked with the whole need to "increase narrative stakes and that if no major characters ever face fatal consequences, the show loses its realism". even now, maybe with how crazy and dramatic some of the plot lines can become in this show, there could be some way to tweak some things to bring back bobby in some form </3

[though, at the end of the day, there is a part of me that obviously accepts that this'll probably just remain within the fanfiction universe and just something fun to entertain while we wait for season 10 in the fall]

Inside looking out

I was thinking 'looking through a window' due to him having cancer as a child and everyone else's lives happening while he's stuck in a hospital, then it turned more whimsy when I saw this window frame AND THEN while looking for a little extra something I clicked on my hologram effect and I really liked that. So here, have both.

I am looking for a fic where the Buckley parents are abusive towards Buck but nobody knows, bonus points if Maddie also doesn’t know! Preferably without spoilers from season 9 and 10 as I haven’t watched those.

I've been binge-watching for the last couple weeks, and saw 8-15 last night...

I hated this. I don't know if I can continue to watch without Bobby, especially Bobby & Athena. Is it worth going on? Does Bobby's absence negatively affect the show?
