Real people get confused, change their minds, misunderstand each other and occasionally say the wrong thing.

AI tends to turn everything into a calm, perfectly structured response. That's useful for certain conversations, but it can also make a casual disagreement sound like a workplace mediation session.

Would you prefer an assistant that preserves your natural reactions, even when they're imperfect?

This is a genuine question. I won't even just say "flirting," but having deep, intimate conversations and flirty banter... intimate moments even, what if the conversation turns sexual? What's your opinion? Would that be considered cheating on a spouse?

This is not a personal experience. It's a topic of discussion and one's opinion on said topic. That is all.

When you have to put a feeling into words, you sometimes understand it better yourself. You might start with "I'm annoyed" and realize while typing that you're actually disappointed, worried, or embarrassed.

That extra reflection doesn't happen in every conversation, but I think it's an underrated part of communicating through text.

Some AI chatbots can produce an incredibly convincing reply while completely missing the point of what you were trying to say.

The wording sounds perfect, the tone is right, and the response looks thoughtful.

Then you realize it answered a slightly different question.

Has anyone else noticed that sounding intelligent and actually understanding the conversation are two very different things?

If you could bring your existing AI companion into VR, would you actually use it?

I’m curious about something. If you already have an AI companion/agent that you’ve spent time developing a relationship with — personality, memories, history, voice, etc. — would you want to interact with that same AI as an embodied avatar in VR?

I don’t mean creating a new VR character and starting again. I mean connecting the AI you already use so its existing personality/history comes with it, then giving it a body in a shared 3D environment.

Things like:

choosing/customizing their avatar

setting their height/appearance

spatial voice and lip sync

eye contact and gestures

walking around a shared room/environment

eventually being able to interact with objects and with you

Would that interest you? What would be essential for it to still feel like your AI, rather than just another avatar?

And if something like that existed, would you prefer a DIY app where you connect everything yourself, or a service where someone sets the integration up for you?

I’m not selling anything — we’re experimenting with bringing an existing AI into a Quest VR environment and it made me wonder whether other people would actually want this.
